BIO

De La Soul is a quintessential act of Hip Hop’s “Golden Era” and part of the larger Native Tongues collective. Composed of trio Posdnous, Dave and Maseo, their debut album, 3 Feet High and Rising (1989), was one of the most influential albums in hip-hop history and helped pioneer skits in hip-hop. The group’s second album, De La Soul Is Dead, was another milestone achievement in the trio’s career becoming a part of the discussion of best albums ever. Their next releases, Buhloone Mindstate (1993) and Stakes Is High (1996), showed the creativity and uniqueness that they were known for. Since then, they’ve added to their legendary catalog of music. After over 30 years in the game, they are still popular performers across the world.
