Ciara Preps New Album, Tour

In addition to preparing a follow up to her first album “Goodies”, CiaraMTV titled “Rumble” and is set to tour with former No Doubt lead singer, Gwen Stefani

The “1,2 Step” star revealed her jitters about recording her second CD.
“Every artist who is a veteran and has been in this for awhile always talks to me about the sophomore jinx,” she said.

Fortunately, this is not a daunting task for her. She remains positive. “Once you get that second album done you feel so good,” she added.

She is getting more help on this album as well. While fans know of her work with Missy Elliot, Jazze Pha and others, she plans to add Kanye West to the mix next time around.

“He’s very passionate about what he does,” she says. “There’s still more that I’d like to share with the world about me, and I get so deep at times, I think it would be crazy if we got together.”

Ciara is up for the challenge that acting brings with “Rumble.” the film also stars Efren Ramirez from Napoleon Dynamite fame (he played Pedro). Laila Ali and Faizon Love are also in the movie.

The film follows four wealthy young ladies who are forced to transfer to a school on the “other side of the fence” after their school burns down. The audience will get to see how the characters deal with situations after going from a privileged neighborhood to a tough one.

Ciara is excited about the opportunity to act.

“Acting is something I always wanted to do, so of course when the opportunity presented itself, I said this is a chance for me to get started.”

Her character, Becca Watley deals with insecurity, love and the lack thereof from her father. “He never comes to any of her volleyball games to support her, so you can kind of see her go through the emotions of that and try to figure out what she wants to do with her life,” she explained.

If the movie and new album aren’t enough, she will also join Gwen Stefani on tour. She notes that this is a great chance to attract a different fan base.
“It’s a great opportunity for me because it’s a different audience and will bring in new fans,” she said.
