AJ Calloway better known as AJ from BET’s 106 & Park is bashing his old network. AJ and former co-host Free made BET’s hit-show a success but is now opening up about his true feelings for the network and the show.
AJ was on 106 for 5 years, so why would he go against it now? Apparently, he’s been against it for a lot longer than many would expect.
While on a trip to South Carolina State University, the host bashed the morals of his old show and network.
“I couldn’t watch my own show with my niece on my lap,” he said of many songs that have been played on the show. He went on to ask the audience to partake in a test to understand just how much songs affect people.
“Pick your five favorite songs,” he said to the audience. “Write down every word that’s in your favorite songs. Read it back to yourself and think about what that has put into your head.”
As he continued, the AP reports that he shed light on racism and how it affected him growing up. He admitted that he made a vow to himself to never disrespect his own race. AJ also said he felt he was wrong to be on the show.
“I felt like I was hurting us by doing what I was doing,” he said.
