The best in Hip Hop and reggae will come together soon to deliver
a powerful message. Headed up by K-Salaam,
The World is Ours will tackle issues
of that affect poor people and people of color.
Salaam assembled
an all star cast for the project including Mos Def, Sizzla, Papoose, Talib
Kweli, Dead Prez, Da Backwudz, Capleton, Black Ice, Anthony B, Bobbito Garcia,
Luciano, and many more.
“My goal for this
album is to spark new ideas, wake up the People, and let my Brothers and Sisters
know that they are not alone,” Salaam
says of the album. “If my People who
are really struggling listen to this album, it will give them hope and
strength; and that’s exactly what I’m trying to do. I want to use my music
to send a message to the world. That message is that the People need to
take back what has been stolen from us – the truth. This message is
universal.”
The album will hit the streets this coming June 27 on Shining Star Music/Rex Recordings/Koch. Every artist on the album wrote a song that revolves
around the theme of the project.
