Wordsworth has been bubbling in the
underground and mainstream for awhile. So have Punchline, Masta Ace and
Stricklan.
With that said, it’s no wonder these emcees have partnered
up to form a union. Together, the collective is known as EMC
and they have recently announced plans to record a new project. Wordsworth
took time out to speak with DX about the news.
“Ace brought me Punch
and Strick along with DJ
Avee on [the] Disposable Arts Tour in 01. From that
tour and future features on Ace albums we
developed a bond in creativity and travelled so much together afterwards we
felt it was only right,” he explained about the partnership.
The album, still in its recording stages, will contain
some conceptual songs. However, Word didn’t want to spill the beans just yet.
“I dont want to throw out ideas because we still
haven’t picked what’s going to make the cut,” he added.
Wordsworth did let us know that the album
is close to being finalized.
“We’re pretty close to finishing. Right now we got
a song out called ‘4 Brothers’ just to warm things up,” he said.
Wordsworth is also writing a screenplay.
Aside from doing an album with Belief titled Dedication,
he’s also featured on Oh No’s Exodus. He’s touring
overseas hitting South Africa,
China and Europe.
