HHDX News Bits Pt Deux (Three 6 Mafia, Bumbershoot, Nelly)

The Three 6 Mafia have definitely had a successful run recently. With a show on MTV, an Oscar in their trophy case and hits to boast about, they’re definitely smiling. Don’t take that as complacency, though. They are hard at work, and as they shared recently, they feel their new album is their best yet.

Expect a big release with The Last 2 Walk, as it will come equipped with major guest spots.

We got Lyfe Jennings, Paul Wall, 8Ball & MJG, Akon, the Game, Lil’ Jon and Lil’ Wayne, DJ Paul recently told Billboard. It’s hot as hell!

So, what of their new show on MTV?

“You see us in meetings, recording, trying to come up with songs, trying to do movie deals, even trying to pick up women,” he added of the show, Adventures in Hollyhood. “Our lives are like a circus…You wouldn’t believe the crap we go through everyday.”

While the focus has been on their own music, Juicy J and DJ Paul have also spread their wings to collaborate with other artists. Surprisingly enough, one of those artists is Justin Timberlake. According to Paul, JT let them know that he grew up on their music.

The Last 2 Walk is set to hit stores this June.

The Wu Tang Clan are no strangers to music festivals. Aside from co-headlining this year’s Rock The Bells with Rage Against the Machine, the New York rap crew is taking on The Bumbershoot Music Festival along with the likes of The Shins, Lupe Fiasco, Lyrics Born and Panic! At the Disco.

This event will be held September 1-3 in Seattle. However, these are only a few of the many acts scheduled to perform and all of them have yet to be announced. Stay tuned for more.

    Now for some movie news…

After his role in The Longest Yard, some folks have said Nelly may have some acting skills. Apparently, he’s taken this to heart and has kept acting. So, what’s his next role? Well, he’s kept it under wraps, but did let some information leak.

“I can’t really talk about it, but we’re working on a project with one of my all-time favorite pastimes going on,” he said of the film.

He also told MTV that the film’s title is slated to be titled Rolling Thunder. By that, we mean, the film will be about bowling.

Sacha Baron Cohen isn’t just Borat or Ali G. The man has also done voice over work for Madagascar, a high grossing animated film a few years ago. Now, the cast is back, with some new tricks.

Jada Pinkett Smith shared a little insight on Madagascar 2.

“Gloria, she has a lot of fun this time. I think Gloria might even get a little boyfriend,” she told MTV. “We just started working on it. The script is hilarious, and I think people are going to have a really good time with it.”

Those waiting on this sequel may have to wait, though. It won’t be released until late in 2008.
