The Game rejected a plea deal in a Manhattan courtrom yesterday (June 13th). The rapper, born Jayceon Taylor, was in court for impersonating a police officer.
The deal, which would’ve offered a sentence of time served in return for a guilty plea, would have allowed the rapper to avoid possible jail time.
“Why should he plead guilty to bogus charges for a non-jail sentence if he’s innocent,” said Game’s attorney, Jeffrey Lichtman, according to New York Newsday. “And he is innocent,” continued Lichtman, “It’s rare that I have a 100 percent innocent defendant, but this is one.”
Game is due back in court on September 20th.
