On August 30th at 10PM, MTV introduces Celebrity Rap Superstar, a new live competition series that aims to turn celebrities such as columnist and blogger Perez Hilton into capable rappers. Among the mentors for this show who will be guiding their celebrity students into the realm of lyricism are Tone Loc, Paul Wall, Warren G and many more.
Viewers can meet the cast, access the show blog and see cast interviews at MTV.com. They can also text or call toll free to vote for their favorite celebrity on MTV Mobile.
The weekly show will have eight contestants paired with their own rapping instructor, who will subsequently help them learn to rap in front of live studio audiences. The celebs will be subject to a panel of judges while performing covers of popular rap songs, performing original material and even freestyling. Then the audience will vote weekly to see who gets eliminated.
