QN5 is already standing out among underground Hip-Hop circles. The crew is busy gearing up for two big releases. Tonedeff sat down to speak with HipHopDX about what fans can expect from the two releases set to hit store shelves in November. Will we see a classic album?
Now, Tone and the fam are not only on tour. They are also setting up the two releases from the camp.
“Aside from the normal slew of shows, we’ve been really focused on setting up the forthcoming releases from Substantial & CunninLynguists in November. Particularly the Substantial album, because alot of heads aren’t as familiar with his work as they might be with CunninLynguists,” he noted.
For those who are not familiar with Substantial‘s work, he also spoke on what we can expect from his album.
“They can expect a rock solid album with varied topics and bangin’ production. Substantial is an incredibly versatile MC, so he sounds just as great over a traditional boom-bap beat, as he does over a club joint. The kid’s got a platinum voice for an MC…and he really gets a chance to run the gamut of styles on this album. I think heads are gonna stop sleeping when they hear it,” he added.
The CunninLynguists are also releasing a new LP in November. Tone let us know that he already believes that it’s a classic.
“To be 100% honest with you, it’s another classic, man. I’ve had it on repeat since I got the final mix back from Kno. Dirty Acres is a definite evolution of the sound they established on A Piece of Strange. This album puts them, in my opinion, in the echelon of the ‘Best Hip Hop Group’ currently doing it. It amazes me how they just get better and better with each record.”
When can you expect these LP’s?
“Substantial – Sacrifice drops Nov. 20th, and CunninLynguists – Dirty Acres Drops Nov. 27. It’s gonna be a beautiful November,” Tone exclaimed.
