Beanie Sigel recently auditioned for the role of the Notorious B.I.G. in the late Brooklyn rapper’s upcoming biopic Notorious. According to MTV News, the self-proclaimed best choice for the role is a “huge B.I.G. fan.”
“To me, dudes like B.I.G. and Pac are special niggas,” said Beans.
“You don’t fuck with niggas’ legacies. I wouldn’t do [the movie] just
to say I played the role. I don’t know nobody else in the rap game who
could do it and pull it off, as far as who you believe, who’s lyrical
enough and fits that image. If I’m watching that joint, I wouldn’t just
want to see an [ordinary] actor. Some people might feel some type of
way to see Beanie Sigel [playing] Biggie, I don’t know. But I’d love to
have a shot at it.”
This wouldn’t be the rapper’s first foray into the film industry, as he starred in both State Property movies, as well as Death of a Dynasty and Paper Soldiers.
In August, it was announced that Notorious would have open casting calls. Production for the movie begins this fall.
