We led a whole campaign this year for felons, trying to get felons to reinstate they votership,Tity Boi told DX Wednesday. “That was me and Dolla‘s idea; no one else thought of that. People with a little bit more backing and support from labels, they can always take our idea, go on TV tomorrow with it. It’s hard for me to get in touch with Jeff Johnson with me just having one [album], but I realized that was a void that needed to be filled.

Tity added why this means is personal to him. “I been a felon since I was 15 years old, for possession of cocaine. I did two years in the chain gang. [Playaz Circle] are both felons; we’re not even supposed to communicate, much less be in a rap group. But we’re blessed to reinstate of votership, to be able to vote this year.

He further deduced, “I felt like it wasn’t a black and white thing, I felt like we had to go out there and voice our opinions and let felons know, ‘Yeah, we made mistakes when we was young, but I was a product of my environment; everybody had to hustle.’

Although not widely known, Tity expressed that this is a side of the Playaz Circle he wishes Hip Hoppers would pay attention to. “We did a lot of media output, letting people know it ain’t even about the music – fuck ‘Duffle Bag Boys.’ This is about felons’ voices counting also.” “We’re conscious at the same time, we’ve got substance at the same time, and we’ve experienced a lot.
