    Brooklyn rapper Q Da Kid spoke to HipHopDX earlier this week about his TAG Records contract and forthcoming debut [click to read].

    Tomorrow the star will be providing Brooklyn families with some holiday help and recession aid, as he distributes 100 $50 gift certificates to both Pathmark locations in East New York. Times were not specified, but locations on 12th Street and Albany Avenue can be reached for detailed information.

    In other news, Youngstown, Ohio rapper Pryslezz is set to release his sophomore album Death Of A Man, Rebirth Of A King on King Ape/Lightyear/EMI Records in 2009.

    The album features single “Sideways” featuring Jason Derulo, with a video coming. The 24 year-old says of his work, “I call the
    concept of putting yourself in a variety of different boxes ‘the
    captives freedom‘. I like to attempt to give something to everyone
    without stepping outside of my own personal virtues and values. The
    music isn’t as strong if you can’t stand behind it.

    Foundation Magazine, publisher of this year’s jaw-dropping Lil Wayne interview that stirred numerous mixtape controversies, is offering a contest, hosted by HipHopDX [click here]. By subscribing to the Philadelphia-based publication for one year, readers are automatically entered to win $1,200 worth of deejay equipment in the form of Traktor Scratch, the innovative deejay software.

    Doomtree [click to read] member P.O.S. announced today that he’ll be releasing Never Better on Minneapolis’ Rhymesayers Entertainment February 3rd. This will be the poet/emcee/punk rocker’s second album for the label, after 2005’s Audition [click to read].

    Never Better will reportedly have over over 16 panels of transparent insert cover art, put together to make a unique artist companion statement to the 16 tracks of the album. P.O.S. has already confirmed a full run on 2009’s Van’s Warped Tour to perform from the February release.
