Doug E. Fresh is known around the world as one of the greatest beat boxers of all time and as a voice on some classic records. Lately, the iconic emcee has been making noise, using his skills over a Nas/Ludacris collabo and appearing on various television shows. Still, some turmoil appears to be brewing with the emcee.
According to the New York Post, the rapper has been hit with three foreclosure actions due to unpaid mortgages for his three Harlem homes. The report claims he owes $3.5 million.
The debt doesn’t appear to end there. Apparently, he also owes $60,000 to American Express for credit card debt. On top of all of this, the IRS is asking for a $367,000 tax lien for unpaid taxes of $40,000 owed to the state collector.
In August of this year, a foreclosure suit was filed claiming Doug E. owed more than $1.73 million.
Although he declined to comment when asked about these financial problems, he is working on Doug E’s Chicken and Waffles, a new restaurant he’s opening up in Harlem next month.

Wow this is awful. Such a kind person and being treated this way, where are all the people this man has helped. The people in the industry that know this man and are able to help him should be a shame of themselves. May God have Mercy on all of them and the riches. This man certainly doesn’t deserve this type of treatment. I trust in him that you will shine like a Black Diamond should. Love what your doing in the community. God knows all, he will see you through! Peace
