After being arrested recently, Katt Williams has been released from jail. The $40,000 bond was posted after the comedian was accused of breaking into a home in Georgia. His attorney William Briggs recently spoke on the matter with CNN.
The house Williams was accused of breaking into with a crow bar is one on a horse farm owned by Barry Hankerson, a record producer. Briggs, however, says Williams was a guest and has been living there for close to a month as he films a new movie that is currently being produced by the home owner.
An employee at the home, Daniel Paul Broach, called police on Monday, saying Williams had broken into the home with a crowbar. The police report says that approximately $3,500 were taken from the home in jewelery and collectible coins but Williams’ lawyer denies that the comedian was involved in theft.
“Mr. Williams wears more than that in jewelry on his person,” he said.
According to Briggs, the employee and Williams were arguing, which caused the employee to call the police.
