When Canibus dropped a diss track towards longtime foe Eminem last week, many fans questioned the timing of the song, the latest entry in a decade-long beef.
West coast emcee Ras Kass can now be counted among those questioning the move, as he revealed his confusion in a recent interview with Gamertag Radio. “I agree with you, I don’t have much to say about it,” said Kass, laughing. “But it came outta nowhere. My personal opinion, I love Eminem just as much as I love Canibus, I do no favortism in that and I do respect both of them and their talents, immensely, I just think, me personally, if somebody went at you, there’s an art of war. In the art of war, this is kind of late to go after him. Maybe he has a plan and as far as battles and all that, then so be it. Me personally, like I said, I love Eminem and I love Canibus, I would have went at Em sooner than now if dude said certain things about me — because some things you gotta let go and it’s the past. I don’t get along with Game, I’m not gonna make a song about him today, it’s dead. Unless we had some new issue.“
The diss, titled “Air Strike,” features DZK and criticizes Eminem for his previous attacks on Mariah Carey and Michael Jackson.
According to Eminem, his rivalry with Canibus started when Canibus accused the Detroit rapper of ghostwriting diss tracks for LL Cool J, with whom Canibus had beef at the time.
