Danny Boy Gets DJ Quik-Assisted Debut “It’s About Time”

Fans of Death Row Records‘ early-to-mid ’90s glory are familiar with the Chicago-born R&B crooner Danny Boy. The sunglasses-clad singer was once in the custody of mentor Suge Knight, and had the popular 1994 hit “Come When I Call” from the platinum Murder Was The Case soundtrack.

The singer remained on the label between 1994 and the early 2000s, appearing on Death Row’s last release with Suge Knight at the controls, 2003’s Dysfunktional Family soundtrack. Danny also worked with 2Pac, Tha Realest and Chicago rappers Do Or Die.

On April 20, WIDE AWAKE/Death Row will release It’s About Time, Danny Boy’s debut. The collection of singles features mostly unreleased material, with several DJ Quik productions, and appearances from the late Zapp front-man Roger Troutman.

    1. he was the last to record with pac in person, and they have over 300 songs of his in the death row vault. Its a shame the songs with pac, and other artists couldnt have been cleared with their laywers and such, but the production shines on this cd and its deffinatly a cd to get ya freak on to, or just for r n b fans in general, not for your everyday rap fan tho.
