A video of an exclusive interview with T.I., his first since his stint in prison for criminal weapons possession, was recently uploaded to the rapper’s YouTube page.
“I’m happy to be home,” said the platinum-selling rapper. “I’m feeling better than I’ve ever felt. Learned a lot, grew a lot. And now, I think it’s time to put that to good use.”
Tip revealed that he didn’t write very much during his stay in prison, saying he didn’t have very much time. “There was a lot of activity around me. So I wasn’t really motivated to create.”
He also spoke on his upcoming album, saying that it would be different from Paper Trail, which was “a lot more about thoughts.” In contrast, T.I.’s upcoming project will be “a lot more about feelings. This is significantly more aggressive.” The end of the interview indicates that the new album will drop August 24 of this year.

If you ass holes were to pull up the court record (which are open to the public) y’all would see that the ATF did an illegal search of his car and house so his lawyer go possession of weapons thrown out. T.I only got charge for being in the premise of weapons as a felon, and he never recieved the silencers so they couldnt charge him for that. So in all after paying $13.7 in bail, lawyer fees, fines, and monitoring yes he only had to do a year. but he also now have to spend $3 million a year for the next five years on security and government monitoring. Which is alot if you’re not touring or able to get out and promote albums and movies because you have a curfew. What y’all fell to realize is they are trying to milk his bank account so the next time he does something he wont have the money to get out. The dude had the same lawyer team that got Ray Lewis off for murder back in the days, the same team that got Michael Vick his deal and back in the NFL. Y’all need to do your reasearch before calling somebody a snitch. Besides who the hell could he snitch on that’s so important that will only give him a year? Big Meech is already locked up and he was the biggest thing in the game in the last decade. True story- I grew up in ATL but in the suburbs north of the city. One day, me & my friend went in Sam Goodies in Buckhead to boost some CD’s (this was before torrents). My friend was from a low income area of the city. We get caught and spend the night in jail. The judge gives my friend three months and a year of community service. Before I can get in the courtroom, I see a lawyer and my parents waiting (and yes I am black). The judge asks me where I’m from. I explain where I lived & what my pops does. I get off with nothing on my criminal record. I got kicked out my house at 17 but I eventually got my shit together anyway and now I got more doe than some of your favorite rappers.
The criminal “just -us” system is set up for people with money. That’s how Jay got off with stabbing Un. That’s how Puffy & J.Lo got off. That’s how Snoop got off with that drive by back in the day. Sorry, it’s just reality.
The only thing T.I. did do was testify against the guy that shot his boy. Politics, entertainment, lobbying. All these things are interconnected because they involve BIG money. I’ll be surprised if Wayne does the full 8 months. Remember Game got 60 days for pulling that weapon but then was out in two weeks. Cassidy bodied someone and got off without a life sentence. Gucci bodied someone and got off. If you can afford it, the legal system works just fine.
