Known then as rapper SKG, Helecia Choyce was signed to Death Row Records in the early 2000s. She appeared on the multi-platinum posthumous 2Pac album Until The End of Time (“Let Em Have It”) and Tha Dogg Pound‘s 2002 (“10 Til Midnight”). Upon his 2001 release from prison, Death Row’s co-founder Suge Knight stated that SKG was a label priority, along with Crooked I, Kurupt and the late Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes.
Almost a decade later, Choyce has published her book The Diary of Helecia Choyce: The Hustle Within Part 1. The self-published book is available at major online retailers, and includes accounts of Choyce’s dealing with rappers including Jim Jones, Nipsey Hussle and Young Jeezy.
According to a press release, “The drama-filled tales range from a pregnant Choyce being jumped into a gang at the behest of fellow L.A. rapper Nipsey Hussle, heated altercations with both Maino and Chamillionaire, sneaking onto a highly secured movie set in order to meet uber star Will Smith, dealing with Mariah Carey’s notorious diva-like behavior, working with media/TV personality Wendy Williams, getting acquainted with famed director Quentin Tarantino.”
The book is availble now.
