Cee-Lo appeared on Comedy Central’s The Colbert Report on Wednesday to perform his hit single “Fuck You.” However, the ever-evolving singer and rapper had a few choice changes to his lyrics at the suggestion of the show’s host Stephen Colbert.
“This is a family show, so we can’t be dropping the F-bomb here,” said Colbert. After suggesting a number of substitutions, he finally offered “something positive like ‘Fox News.'” Colbert, along with fellow comedian Jon Stewart, is known for taking barbs at the right-leaning news channel.
Cee-Lo performed both the original song as well as a parody of it which included the refrain “I see you driving ’round town with the girl I love/On Fox News,” and many other changes.
