Brooklyn duo Blahzay Blahzay made a Hip Hop classic in 1996’s “Danger.” The P.F. Cuttin-produced New York anthem featured the sharp cut-in vocals of Jeru The Damaja, Q-Tip and Ol’ Dirty Bastard, with an equally popular remix by Gang Starr’s DJ Premier.
Now, the duo of P.F. Cuttin and MC Out Loud are suing another east coast emcee/producer for using their own creation. Wyclef Jean sampled “Danger” on his 2007 song “Welcome To The East,” from Carnival II: Memoirs of an Immigrant. According to TMZ.com, Blahzay Blahzay is suing for $2,000,000 as they claim that Jean and his management used the song without songwriting credits, and reportedly have ignored previous threats of legal action.
Wyclef Jean has been called out over sampling issues previously. In 2004, legendary producer Diamond D reported that Jean never cleared the Cymande “Dove” sample used on the title track from The Fugees’ The Score, forcing the producer to forfeit credit to the credit on the multi-platinum album.
Blahzay Blahzay has not released an album since their debut, Blah, Blah, Blah. Cuttin has since produced for Sean Price, Masta Killa and Thirstin Howl III. Next month, Wyclef Jean is expected to release an EP, If I Were President on Columbia/Sony Records.

yeah, kinda funny coming from a man (Outloud) who recorded a track with a french group called Triptik and simply stole the instrumental to release it in the US as a Blahzay Blah solo track without asking for permissions. and you guessed it, without paying for sh#t either.
BULLSHIT Sampling is a part of the game EVERY Hip hop classic has a sample who the fck is “Blahzay Blahzay” anyway
Do your homework homie , Blahzay Blahzay – Blah Blah Blah is a Classic & Danger is a classic East Coast banger
“When the east is in the house… oh my god, DANGER!!”
little kids dont know shit about hip hop
is that a joke “who the fuck is “Blahzay Blahzay” anyway”? go listen to nicki minaj and kill yourself
Kind of funny that a song whose hook is made up of 3 samples is the basis for a sampling lawsuit…. did Blahzay Blahzay clear Jeru, Q-Tip, and KRS? Or so they just have enuff credibility to pull it off, and, in their estimation, Wyclef doesn’t? That’s understandable…. but kind off lame at the same time.
@ Dazvilla: Do your homework! Certified anthem!
It samples the sample, but it does use the beat, which is probably a sample, just sayin…

It’s only fair to give props to where the origins started this off…almost of the comments do not condone to the positivity of rap music, and dx, you’re no exception…seriously, everyone needs to do their homework and know/understand how hiphop came to be…yeah yeah yeah, krs-1 states this many times, but he’s STILL living through this belief…are YOU!?
Blahzay Blahzay couldn’t be possibly doing this as a group…That has to be Outloud’s doing and not PF Cuttin’s because I’m sure Outloud must be hurting for some big cash right now which he is never gonna see come out of this lawsuit with Wyclef…Not only that before Wyclef even touched Blahzay’s “Danger”, “Danger” samples the following:
Gwen McCrae – “Rockin’ Chair”
Jeru The Damaja – “Come Clean”
The Beastie Boys feat. Q-Tip – “Get It Together”
Big Daddy Kane feat. Scoob,Sauce Money,Shyheim,JZ aka Jay-Z,and Ol’ Dirty Bastard – “Show and Prove”
So Outloud might wanna over think his foolish anger or foolish desperate greed for a get rich quick scheme due to financial hard times because this lawsuit isn’t gonna look too pretty in his favor…And as a matter of fact Gwen McCrae is 66 years old and will be 67 next month on the 21st of December and she is still alive and breathing as we speak…So Outloud should be feeling very lucky that Gwen and her family hasn’t stepped in to sue his ass for $2 million over sampling “Rockin’ Chair” because she still has the rights and the regards to doing that if she wants to…Wyclef could easily win this case by calling up Gwen McCrae(who’s still alive) to testify on his behalf and Outloud will wind up looking stupid for this lawsuit…Sorry but this is a case that Outloud will not win plus to sue for $2 million is fuckin’ ridiculous…Get your lazy up and go make that $2 million yourself homie…
I’m pretty sure blahzay blahzay cleared all their samples otherwise they would’ve been sued a long time ago. They have every tight to sue wyclefs stupid ass.
always gotta give credit where credit is due, NO EXCUSES.
ahahahahahaha, 2 million. This is even more ludicrious than the time Danny Boy thought he deserved 3 Mill for singing I aint mad at cha.
I think it’s time for Wyclef to record We Are the World part 3.
