Wiz Khalifa and Curren$y recently came under fire for their collaboration “Huey Newton”. Renowned Black activist, minister and author Trutha Minista Paul Scott attacked the duo in a video (see below), saying that their use of Huey P. Newton’s names is disrespectful given the content of the song. Scott even went as far as to call them COINTELPRO agents.
“They’re not talking about being revolutionaries, they’re not talking about fighting the power for the people, they’re not talking about standing up for the people and free lunch programs like Huey P. Newton of the Black Panthers did,” he said. “It’s a blatant example of the disrespect that many of the Hip Hop artists have for those who paved the way for them…how dare you, Curren$y and Wiz Khalifa, to make a song that was disrespectful to the legacy of the Black Panthers…I really believe that some of you Hip-Hop artists are really COINTELPRO agents.”
In related news, Wiz Khalifa revealed to Hot 97’s Angie Martinez that he’s planning on releasing a star-studded remix to his smash single “Black and Yellow.” Although numerous emcees have already jumped on the track for their own unofficial remixes, Wiz has enlisted Snoop Dogg, Jeezy, Three 6 Mafia’s Juicy J, and T-Pain for the official “G-Mix.” He even hinted that a fourth person might grace the remix, but did not reveal the artist’s name.

That power being economic, social, political etc. A true racist can impede the progress of another through those entities. Think of it this way. If one has given the other second rate schools, with second rate books while giving them a fourth rate education, then socially that group of people have experienced a disadvantage that the other group continues to perpetuate. If you grew up in a household where your grandmother or any other family member received a check from the federal government that is economic racism and more importantly economic slavery. Slavery meaning dependence in this context. And lastly, political. Any time a people make up 40 % of the general population of the United States and it does not make a difference if they go to the polls to vote or not means that as a people we have no political power. For years, this country has brainwashed its minority populations into not voting. But look at your constitution and it will tell you why. Because it still states to this day, that you are 3/5 of human being and that if you are not white, male, and own land your vote will never count. That is political racism. The black panthers do nothing but keep the stereotypes and separation from all other races in the forefront and until the black race learns to stop separating themselves from all the other races they will never be looked at as one or the same. The black panthers and the majority of blacks in general do whatever they can to keep separated from other races by being extremely racist on many levels and can be heard all the time on TV, music, magazines, or even in normal conversations within the black communities. Until these issues within the black race stop no other race will stop feeling the way they do about the black race. I’m not saying all blacks are guilty of this but a majority of the black race has these underlying issues and they do come up given the right context. Nobody wants to hear or see how you continue to try and separate yourselves from the rest. A great example is when Obama won and we see blacks all over the U.S. celebrating as if it was “THEIR VICTORY” and the mentality of “WE WIN” is thrown in the faces of all other races. Can’t you see how these types of “black power” moments can feel insulting to the other races in which you share this wonderful nation of ours? If a white person tries to even show a small dose of “white power” or shares any thoughts about how they may be proud of their race people automatically paint that person into a corner as a racist or a ku klux fruit loop. The double standard by the black race will continue to be the dividing line between coming together and staying separated in the minds of all races. Sure we don’t see the obvious signs of racism as we did in the past or the generations before us where raised in but we all know the issues remain deep in all our minds and it’s something I wish would stop on both sides of the races. The black race is the worst when it comes to continuing to separate themselves from everybody else and the black panthers are the worst group in this regard. The voter intimidation this past election we all seen on the news is just another small example of how this group continues to hold down the black race all while claiming it only wants whats best for its race. I hope some day our children’s children will live in a time when the black races stops holding themselves down from what can truly be accomplished by considering themselves the same and as equals rather then superior, better, worse or less for that matter. I can’t take away the things that translated in the past to the black race but I can pray that our nation can continue to remove itself from all the negatives in the past that was transpired by our past generations.
