Cam’ron & Ma$e Underwhelmed By Kendrick Lamar ‘Euphoria’ Diss: ‘Drake Is Winning’

Kendrick Lamar set the Hip Hop world alight with his Drake diss song “Euphoria,” but Cam’ron and Ma$e weren’t blown away by what they heard.

The Harlem rappers turned sports personalities shared their thoughts on the explosive track on the their show It Is What It Is on Wednesday (May 1), with both men agreeing that the 6 God is winning the battle so far.

“Drake is definitely winning from an MC standpoint,” Ma$e said, praising the Toronto native’s own recent diss songs “Push Ups” and “Taylor Made Freestyle.”

“It took a while for us to get the record from Kendrick and when you wait a while it gotta be outta this world. I think if Kendrick dropped this record right after ‘[Push Ups] Drop and Give Me 50,’ it would have been crazy.”

Killa Cam added: “I think Drake is winning. ‘Euphoria’ didn’t really move me. I’m expecting lyrics from Kendrick, you’re expecting certain things. The song was kinda long, it took too long to come out — pause. I’m not saying it’s bad.”

Murda interjected: “It was a good record [but] we didn’t wait a while for a good record […] It’s like when you did ‘Curtis’ [Cam’ron’s 50 Cent diss song], it’s a certain thing you gotta have in the record that Kendrick doesn’t have in his record.

“You gotta say something that make n-ggas look at the n-gga different. And when he did the, ‘I don’t want to hear you say n-gga,’ that was an angle that we already heard before.”

Cam then analyzed the entire beef between Kendrick and Drake (and others in Hip Hop), claiming the stakes aren’t as high as when he was feuding with some of his rap peers in the ’90s and ’00s.

“I’m not saying this rap beef isn’t interesting and entertaining, but when we was rap disses — and not just me, I’m saying in general — people had the potential to die or get seriously hurt,” he said. “I just don’t feel that in these battles.

“I’m not promoting [violence]; I’m happy that nobody will get hurt, hopefully. But it just felt dangerous. This doesn’t feel like a dangerous atmosphere to me.”

Drake himself has also reacted to “Euphoria,” choosing to troll Kendrick Lamar over some of his lyrics on the song.

The Toronto native uploaded a clip to Instagram from the 1999 comedy 10 Things I Hate About You where Julia Stiles’ character recites a poem listing off all of the things she hates about a crush even though she loves them.

The clip is a clear reference to the part on “Euphoria” where Kendrick raps: “I hate the way that you walk, the way that you talk, I hate the way that you dress/ I hate the way that you sneak diss, if I catch flight, it’s gon’ be direct/ We hate the bitches you fuck, ’cause they confuse themself with real women.”

Drake, through Akademiks, also teased a response to the track.

Speaking on his Rumble channel, Ak read out a text from the rap star that said: “I’m energized by the elimination of Drake… See you soon,” with the first part being a reference to recent comments made by Kanye West.

The media personality also claimed that Drake told him: “If you think this is fire, you have no idea what I got coming.”

    1. Mr. Computers Putin was looking for lyrics. SMH. Ain’t that some sht. Neither one of them got dope diss records. Not sure they’ve ever won a rap battle.

    2. Anybody not dickriding or letting their hatred of Drake is underwhelmed by it. It’s wack. Yet you got mofos talking about this is this generation’s Ether. Nah, we OGs not going to let you people do that.

      1. I dunno what you be talking about, I’m a younger cat, and no one in my circle who really knows hip-hop is calling it this generation’s ether. So cut the generational jabs, its not necessary. Maybe if some of y’all weren’t concentrating so much on hating on the youngins cause it wasn’t real hip-hop mfs would be more inclined to do the knowledge.

    3. the polarization has taken effect now we see even more clearly who the lames and the sellouts are. it is insane for anybody to say that bbl glizzy won vs kdot from an mc standpoint

      1. Kendrick’s worst album is better than any drake album. But Euphoria was weak. It was long and he didn’t say much

    4. Say what you want but Cams Jay Z diss was fire…”Beyoncé fiancé? Check my second LP, I might bring her back…That’s your girl that’s your world had the thing freaking singing bout slinging crack!!!”

    6. Why do all these old rappers think they speak for the culture? I’m a huge fan of Camron too along with Mase but y’all don’t get to say who’s winning. The fans do. Fact is Kendricks diss already has more views than Drake’s!!! In one damn day!!! That says it all right there, for now Kendrick is winning

      1. We left the game in your hands, and you made these two lames famous to begin with, so obviously, we needed to speak up more so this shit didn’t happen in the first place.

      2. Says you don’t care about lames but posted on an article and responds to someone you don’t even know. Who’s the real lame here?

      3. You mean like your bitch ass comment on everything on this site? You’re just as lame as they are because you idolize them.

    7. Kendrick is winning, I like that and euphoria just outweighs what Drake has done. Drake lack of authenticity hurts him. He still has a chance to get back in it with a fire diss song. But judging by the first one he dropped he didn’t have much fire behind it. Also I like that is dominating the charts over push ups that’s where Drake usually has the advantage and he’s losing on that end too.

    9. Alternative take… I don’t think any of them are winning. Drake is lame as always, Cole hit and ran, Kendrick’s voice was so bad that I couldn’t understand most of what he said on the first listen. I’m sure the fans are loving it but this is one of the most interesting rap conflicts I’ve ever witnessed.
