Big Boi Speaks On “Daddy Fat Sax: Soul Funk Crusader,” Due Late 2011

Big Boi is hard at work on his upcoming sophomore solo album Daddy Fat Sax: Soul Funk Crusader, which he plans on dropping at the end of the year. Speaking with Junior Online, the Outkast member explained that he’s 17 songs deep in the recording process, and could put out the album “tomorrow” if so chose.

“Oh man, it’s going to be S-A-X-X-X triple unadulterated funk to the extremest level,” he said. “Straight lyrical assassin, and the beats are going to be as hard hitting as always. I’mma let everything else be a surprise, and just let it speak for itself. I’m 17 songs into it now, everything is sounding phenomenal. I could put it out tomorrow if I wanted to, but I’mma marinate on it because I’m on the road. I feel good about it, all the music’s sounding great… I’m just really stayin’ busy out here killin’ it.”

Sir Lucious Left Foot confirmed Janelle Monae’s appearance on the LP, and explained that he’s also working on her album at the moment.

“We’re working on her next album now, and I can tell you that she’ll be on the new Daddy Fat Sax album… You know, to be able to bring new talent to the game… man, that’s what it’s all about. I really take pride in artists that take pride in themselves, you know what I’m sayin’?” he continued. “She’s somebody whose hand you don’t have to hold. She’s got a creative mind, she’s got a great spirit. She’s a good girl and I’m proud of her. She’s making me very proud.”

      1. at this point, i really don’t give a damn about andre’s project. he’s gonna be on some kid cudi stuff anyway and prob jack cee-lo green style just like he did for the love below album. i’m not waiting to hear 4 verses from a dude on a 15 track album. if i want to hear siniging, i’ll but musiq soulchild or something

    1. Big Boi album will be fire like his sir luscious left foot it was a classic and he is still not getting his props being lyrical either but this album should wake people up who are still sleeping on him cant wait for his album and andre 3000 album and that kast album best rap group ever in my opinion

      1. ^^^^
Whoa. i put the roots first, but big boi was a close second. no matter though, at least we have a discussion unlike the past few years. lol

      2. I agree i have the Roots at number 1 as well…sure big boi gets overshadowed by dre all the time but the roots get snubbed by the entire music industry almost every album

    2. No album should be more than 14 tracks. Albums have a tendency to be watered downed with filler tracks as opposed to just having the best songs once they place so many songs on it. Besides, I really want to hear a Kast album first.

    3. His first solo was so solid….I’m not worried at all about this one. I just can’t wait to hear it.

      Big Boi = underrated

    4. FUK THIS FREEMASON ASS NIGGA HOW I KNW U ASK? I FUCKED THAT NIGGA RAW TO PASS HIM 2 DEGREES BITCH NIGGA

    5. I cant wait. the day the album comes out, im BUYING it, and rolling a FAT one and listening to it. if its as actually as good as his last one i will cry with happiness.

    6. soooooo has anyone heard anything else about Daddy Fat Sax????? This is the last time i’ve heard anything about it and its January 2012 right meow…
