Gillie Da Kid has shared his thoughts in the wake of a devastating mass shooting in his hometown of Philadelphia that occurred over the Fourth of July holiday, and made a desperate plea for the city to clean up its act.
The Million Dollaz Worth of Game host took to Instagram on Wednesday (July 5) to share his thoughts on the tragedy, which took the lives of five people including a 15-year-old boy.
“We looking real sad out here, Philly,” Gillie began. “Eight n-ggas shot outside out West, four n-ggas dead, two kids, shot somebody grandmom. When the fuck n-ggas’ kids and grandmoms been on the menu? When is n-ggas’ grandmoms and kids been on the menu, man?
“There was a time you seen a n-gga and was beefing with a n-gga, you seen him with his kids and give him the, ‘Oh, you lucky you with your kids, bitch.’ Because you didn’t even want that type of karma on you because the kids ain’t have nothing to do with this shit.”
He continued: “And you n-ggas isn’t even beefing over no fucking money! You mean to tell me you finna go to jail, sit in jail for a thousand years for shooting n-ggas that you didn’t even mean to shoot? And it ain’t even about no money!
“C’mon man. We gotta get to the old Philly, man, where n-ggas was into getting money. N-ggas was into getting bitches … being fly and n-ggas didn’t want no muthafucking trouble…you n-ggas shooting n-ggas about Instagram captions, man.”
Police arrested Kimbrady Carriker, 40, after a brief foot pursuit and charged him with attempted murder and carrying a firearm without a license, according to BBC News. The suspect — who was not required to enter a plea during Wednesday’s court appearance — is currently being held without bail.
“Public safety is clearly an issue. There are no set conditions to ensure the safety of the community,” Judge Naomi Williams said during the hearing.
Carriker allegedly donned a bullet-proof vest and carried an AR-15-style rifle, handgun, police scanner and ammunition when he began opening fire at random along several blocks of Philadelphia’s Kingsessing neighborhood on Monday night (July 3).
This is far from the first time Gillie has advocated for safer streets in his hometown. During a visit to his old neighborhood in April, the podcast host was spotted handing out cash to kids outside a store while offering some words of wisdom.
“Stay out the streets,” he told them, with a young girl promising she’d be heading right home after getting the cash.

You ever heard of a damn apostrophe? Or a period? My God, so many adults who can’t formulate a SINGLE sentence that is coherent. I’m sorry, it isn’t your fault. It’s the systems fault for not beating you in the head until you paid attention in school. It’s all good, we will be shipping you to North Korea to go learn 4th grade English.
Can’t say I’m surprised by a key detail of the shooter being the type of so-called journalists we have on this site. A site where facts are intentionally left out or twisted to keep us against each other. Where a site can’t be about hiphop without a political digs at the opposing side. Here we have an article that tells me about Gillie Da Kid. A rapper that most people don’t pay much a mind to unless he is having podcasts beefs. Never one article about his past music that no one cares about. I digress. This article has no mentions of the shooter being trans. They do manage to link an article to a BBC news article for some lackluster journalisming. You can go to the NY Post and get some more information, and accounts from people who lived around him. This will be treated just like the shooting that took place at the Christian school. Less about the mental health aboit the shooter and more about how an AR-15 magically started killing people. It’s remarkable how blatantly dishonest news outlets are about things we can see with our own eyes. Not that you should ever believe your lying eyes.
You can’t have it both ways man. This ‘Gillie’ clown has been screaming for 20 years now about how gangster he is. Dudes like this ARE the reason these kids are so stupid and violent. They’ve had a million opportunities to give a positive message and they never did it. Handing out turkeys, backpacks, or sneakers in the hood doesn’t make up for the negative impact they’ve had on these kids. And of course, there are countless other factors as well, but rappers and drama fueled ‘podcasts’ are fueling the fire, not quelling it.
We don’t believe you, ButtFillie The Kid
This one hit nobody is just doing this for clout cuz most the time he’s the one who’s always saying he’s always ready to blast his OPP
A gangster rapper, and not the intelligent, knowledge kicking kind like Masta Ace, has the audacity to plea with people to not act in a way which he and many like him have glorified for the past 5 decades straight? F#ck off man. Again, I’m cool with intelligent gangster rap that isn’t about glorifying ignorance and bad actions. Again, masta ace is a prime example of that.
