Though Meek Mill is making big moves on Maybach Music Group nowadays, his future was uncertain after his deal with T.I.’s Grand Hustle Records fell through.
In an interview with Billboard, T.I. explained why the business relationship didn’t last. “After my two hiatuses I was put in a position where I couldn’t really make moves on Meek as quick as he may have wanted to,” explained Tip. “I never been one want to hold anyone back or to slow down the success of anybody. I’m the first to try to enhance what you have and if I can’t make it better than I shouldn’t be a part of it.”
The two are still clearly on good terms, as Tip recently got on Meek Mill’s “Ima Boss” remix.
“I love what he’s done and I love the fact that what I felt he was able to do, people now see. The potential that i saw in him and the things that I thought he was capable of doing it’s been proven to be true.”

I was just gonna mention that roam2roam… A lot of these artists that come out under labels run by these superstarts rappers either have poor work ethics, or more simply, are just not good enough. Say what you want about Lil Wayne… the nigga was smart enough to sign artists who had the potential to be superstars in their own right. And now YMCMB has three superstars on the roster (Wayne, Drizzy, Nicki Minaj)
