Lil’ Cease Speaks On The Legacy Of The Notorious B.I.G.

On the 15th anniversary of the death of the Notorious B.I.G., Lil’ Cease took time to reflect on the rapper not as an icon in music, but as a close friend during an interview with HOT 97. Lil’ Cease also spoke on the rapper’s larger than life personality and his kindness during the interview.

“I just think about just missing my friend as a person. You know what I mean? Besides all the great music he made just him as a person and what he did for Junior M.A.F.I.A. and what he did for some of the friends that came up from his neighborhood,” Lil’ Cease explained in the interview which was posted on RapRadar.com. “We all still got careers and we all still relevant and making music on the strength of what B.I.G. created for us. So that just shows the type of heart he had. Just how kind he was and missing being around him. B.I.G. was super funny. He had personality that was just out of this world man.”

Lil’ Cease revealed that while it’s still difficult dealing with B.I.G.’s death he looks to the positive things like seeing the rapper’s family doing well. Lil’ Cease also commended radio stations and even fans on Twitter for helping keep B.I.G.’s legacy alive.

“It’s crazy, they say time heals wounds but you know when it comes to B.I.G. it’s like I know how to deal with it now cause I guess just cause it’s been so long. And things that make me happy is just seeing his family happy, seeing Ms. Wallace good, seeing his kids in college, and seeing C.J. that’s the stuff that makes me not think about B.I.G. being gone,” said Lil’ Cease. “That’s the good stuff that comes from it, but at the end of the day [as] long as we all here to keep his legacy alive and to hear ya’ll play the joints on the radio shouting him and seeing the people on Twitter. Just B.I.G.’s impact on the game, that makes us feel better.”

The Notorious B.I.G. was killed on March 9, 1997 in Los Angeles and to this day the rapper’s murder remains unsolved.

I’m pretty sure under “still making music” he must thought that soon-to-be-released Junior M.A.F.I.A. LP “Coming Close to the Edge”, since his last and only solo effort released 13 years ago …

In my opinion, his career died with Biggie.
