It’s not uncommon in Thailand’s dynamic young hip hop scene for young rap stars to be constantly in flux. One case is The Rapper’s OG-ANIC, who made his debut in 2018 and has since amassed a following that rivals industry veterans. Best known for his easygoing flow over a melodic production, he collaborates with prolific rap star SARAN on “ใจคอไม่ดี” (Bad Mind).
SARAN, who has built a discography colored by extravagance and a mostly rap-meets-R&B musical repertoire, complements the uncomplicated flow of the track. The LZBOY-directed visual follows the two performing their parts in the afterglow of a hazy afternoon interspersed by scenes by the bridge along a riverbank—no flashy set designs or backlit framing to illuminate the artists in a fast-paced cityscape.
It’s been a busy year for the two, with OG-ANIC releasing one music video for the third month in a row and SARAN premiering his collaboration with 2K “Money Bag” just last week. No stranger to controversy, SARAN issued a clarification on copyright concerns of the sample used in the track.
