Hsien Chan Photoshops Himself Alongside Hip Hop Icons for Remix Series

It’s one thing to put a new twist into something old school, but Taiwanese rapper-producer Hsien Chan incorporates a little more in 2pac and Nas classics: himself.

Chan photoshops himself alongside hip hop legends for his remix series, which so far includes A Tribe Called Quest’s “1nce Again,” InI’s “Fakin’ Jax” (feat. Pete Rock), Tha Dogg Pound’s “Where U From” (feat. Bad Azz), The Pharcyde’s “Soul Flower,” 2pac’s “Me Against The World,” and Nas’ “If I Ruled The World.” The remixes are up on his YouTube channel.

Although visually hilarious, the results themselves make for a good head-bopping DJ mix. Hsien Chan is part of Taiwanese rap group Banyan Gang and has put out a solo album in 2019 titled LATELY, which includes a wide range of boom bap selections, featuring assists from celebrated Taiwanese underground producers such as Conehead.
