Mac Miller Delays “Pink Slime” Project With Pharrell Williams

Mac Miller and Pharrelll Williams originally planned to collaborate on Pink Slime, a project that both spoke openly about. However, that project seems to have taken a backseat to Mac’s latest work.

“The Pink Slime with Pharrell was the next move for awhile. So I was going down there [to Miami, Florida]. We were working. I just realized it wasn’t time to do that yet, the Pharrell project. Before I take my brand and mix it with Pharrell’s, I want to solidify what my brand is first. So I want to do my album first,” Miller explained in an interview with Hot 97.

Mac also went on to share the differences between working alone and working with Skateboard P.

“The vibe is great. Whenever I go to Miami to work with Pharrell, it’s different. I work in this dark cave. That’s what my vibe is like,” he said. “And then I go to Miami and it’s sunny, a pool right outside and a lot of natural light.”

Miller is now focusing on his next solo project. He has released the Flying Lotus-produced “S.D.S.,” a single that he says has garnered the response he was hoping for.

“I dropped the single. A person like 9th Wonder, 9th’s been my homie for the longest. I put out that record and this man lost it. 9th went crazy,” Miller continued. “He was texting me like, ‘Is this what your album’s about to be like? I’m so geeked.’ For someone like 9th, who’s known me for so long, he’s just happy that I’ve finally put it all together properly. There’s no problem with fun records. There’s no problem with that. Everyone needs to have fun. But how do you make a sick fun record?”

The interview can be viewed below.

Last year, Miller told HipHopDX about his next solo project. Mac explained that it will heavily feature members of Top Dawg Entertainment. “TDE will be a big part of that,” Miller shared. “I’ve been fans of them and all their projects that came out. Then, when we moved out here [Los Angeles], they just kind of came to the crib.” His new album will be titled Watching Movies With the Sound Off

    1. Thank god we won’t have to hear this crap. And as for Pharell, his primary collaboraters in the industry are the oldest and wackest rappers…Jay-Z and Pusha-T.

      1. I just hate Jay Z and Pusha T just because they refused my requests to share their women with me.

      2. Pusha T ain’t got a girl. He lies about all of his slam pieces on his songs just like he lies about moving weight.

      3. Im sorry. I must be confused with Wayne. Pusha T has a girl and Im just mad because he won’t share her with me.

    2. its funny when i think of lil wayne i get lime green slim with yellow in the middle

im guessing pharrel bringing the pink

      1. ^^^Hip Hop is white???

Because there are like 5 or 6 famous white rappers that means its white?? It’s never been white. And it never will be white. If 90% of rappers were white. It still wouldn’t be white. And whether its white/black/yellow/green it doesn’t matter. We all know where it came from.

    4. when i first heard his music i thought he was wack as fuck, but when i heard macadellic i instantly became a fan. hes dope and i think hes getting better
