After working together on “Holla-Loo-Yuh,” Tech N9ne says he has new found respect for R.A. The Rugged Man. In a video promoting R.A.’s Legends Never Die album, Tech explains just why he has so much praise for The Rugged Man.
“When I think about R.A. and how he might compare to the mainstream mothafuckas or independent mothafuckas as far as flow and delivery and everything, I think R.A. is in his own mothafucking lane,” Tech shares in the clip. “I think a lot of niggas can’t even handle his lyricism. R.A. is hardcore, he’s a hardcore lyricist, and that’s what we like. And that’s why ‘Holla-Loo-Yuh’ is a mothafucking smash, because nigga is on there bustin’. And that’s what we do, and that’s what he does, and I dig it. He actually takes the time to rhyme multiple times, over and over. The song we did, ‘Holla-Loo-Yuh,’ multiple syllables, just murdered it. The kind of emcee to say, ‘I can do this and you can’t.’ I dig that shit. If you haven’t heard it, listen to R.A.’s verse, and tell me that ain’t a mothafucking emcee. You gotta be an emcee to do that kind of shit.”
In the video, Tech also recalls a memory of The Rugged Man, explaining why “it’s a beautiful thing when something abnormal can break through.”
“He don’t give a fuck,” Tech continued. “I’ve seen this mothafucka on stage with his draws on, bustin’. Sweaty as a mothafucka with his boxers on, packed-ass crowd, not givin’ a fuck. And you know, we specialize in ‘don’t give a fuck’ music, and R.A. is that. What I’m expecting from Legends Never Die is, I’m expecting to hear some hardcore fucking rhyming and I know I’m going to get that from R.A., for sure. And it’s a beautiful thing when something abnormal can break through. That’s a celebration.”
This interview with Tech can be found below via Nature Sounds.
The two have filmed a video for “Holla-Loo-Yuh.” Last year, Tech spoke about their work together and shared that they were also slated to work on a movie. The movie idea never worked out.
“I was supposed to shoot a movie with him,” Tech explained. “He wanted me to be this thing that fucked these pussy-heads. I was like, ‘I’m not gonna fuck them pussy-heads, R.A.’ It was like a monster movie and the bitches [in the movie] had beautiful bodies but had pussy faces, and I was supposed to be the horny motherfucker fucking their faces. I was like, ‘I’m not gonna do that, R.A., I love you but I’m not gonna do that.'”

Far out, RA be gettin alot of praise. Truthfully i grew out of him pretty quick. But all due respect to this fella, he came into hip hop with something nobody every had, his distinctive flow.
His album is ok, comparing him to pharaoh monch, gza, chino xl and ras kass he does become a blur in the distance. But hey he def makes a niche in the hip hop we all thrive to keep alive.
this guy’s only claim to fame is a song with biggie.
and it is the wackest piece of garbage biggie ever put out.
he has no classics, so why is he calling himself a legend? seriously, what is so remarkably about this guy?
No classics?! His guest appearances alone are classic.
Listen to…
“Uncommon Valor”, “Give it up”, “Three Kings”, “Renaissance”, “Lessons”, “Chains”, “Mad ammo”, “Captain caveman”, “Every record label sucks dick”, the whole “Legends never die (minus 1 or 2 tracks)” album. Not many spit like him anymore.
