Eminem Says “Hip Hop Ain’t Dying” On “Rhyme Or Reason”

Eminem’s “Rhyme Or Reason” off The Marshall Mathers LP 2 samples The Zombies’ “Time Of The Season,” a selection off the group’s 1968 album Odessey And Oracle.

On the track, Eminem raps about his status in Hip Hop and his passion for the culture.

“As long as I’m on the clock, punching this time card,” Eminem raps, “Hip Hop ain’t dying on my watch.”

He also speaks about his status as a rapper in the genre’s history.

“Spark the revolution,” Eminem raps on the track. “Rebel without a cause, who caused the evolution / Of Rap to take it to the next level boosted.”

On the track, Eminem also speaks about his father.

“This is all your fault,” Eminem says on the selection. “Maybe that’s why I’m so bananas, I appealed to all those walks of life.”

The track also references The Marshall Mathers LP’s “Criminal.”

“I still am a criminal,” Em says on the track, referencing his cut off the original The Marshall Mathers LP. ten year old degenerate grabbing on my genitals.

The track is a selection off Eminem’s The Marshall Mathers LP 2.

Eminem has said that this album is not set to be a continuation of the original.

“Calling it The Marshall Mathers LP 2, obviously I knew that there might be certain expectations,” Eminem says in an upcoming article by Rolling Stone. “I wouldn’t want to call it that just for the sake of calling it that. I had to make sure that I had the right songs – and just when you think you got it, you listen and you’re like, ‘Fuck, man. I feel like it needs this or that,’ to paint the whole picture.”

Eminem’s The Marshall Mathers LP 2 is set to be released in stores November 5.

      1. And you like cock. What’s the point? And since you like cock, check out my new album “nothing was the same” Lots of dick liking going on with me and weezy….Chea…gay money!

    2. Gotta hand it to Eminem. He disappears, then pops up and totally takes over the media, and charts a slew of songs. He doesn’t need to make music anymore. That’s the thing.

    3. Album is actually solid aside from the song with Kendrick & Rap God which I’m not too fond of. The aforementioned song is dope tho. Em can still flow. It’s more of a nod to Hip-Hop than anything on MMLP.

      1. There are some crazy flows on this album. Technically still the best out there. And there’s not only yelling, he actually calms down a bit and actually raps like he should be.

    4. solid album alot better than recovery . loved the original mmlp references. and i dont y’all who say love game was wack im sure if it was gucci mane and lil b you faggots would be jerking off to it .

    5. But hip-hop is dying, you shit face! Matter of fact, hip-hop doesn’t even exist anymore. The new genre is called HIP-POP or just simply POP. Just take a good look at all the faggots running around in the so called rap industry right now. All your new favorite rappers are nothing but a bunch of fruitcakes. If you don’t understand what I’m saying, then you are already brainwashed and you are slowly becoming a faggot yourself. Since when is it slick for dudes to wear tight-ass pants?

      1. if it was some mexican who rapped about the struggle of jumpin the border bet you’d say thats real hip hop….barrio e’zzz up…..hey there a pick up on hillside lookin for cheap laborers houldnt you be there?

    6. By the way, just take a good look at Eminem in that picture above. Your POP-RAP hero has foundation on his face and has light pink lip stick on. I’m just telling it like it is.

      1. you gotta be at least half way gay to look at a picture and be able to point all that shit out

i dont really look at the pictures too closely i most read the articles

      2. If you chase pussy, how the fuck do you not know what foundation and lipstick is? Just telling it like it is. It’s your hero in the picture, not mine.

    7. You kids no !
Rythme or Reason is just Em rapping over The Zombies – Time of the Season and its the best song on the album??

    8. 10TH BEST SONG ON THE ALBUM

      TOP 6
bad guy, so much better, legacy, asshole, rap god, and evil twin
Evil Twin is the best so far, and then legacy and rap god are also very good.
Still waiting on the 5 deluxe tracks.

      1. “Cause I took book-smarts and swapped for ’em
They was sleeping, I made them stop snorin’
Made them break out the popcorn
Now I’ve been hip hop in its tip top form
Since N.W.A. was blaring through my car windows leaning on the horn
Screaming ”fuck the police” like cop porn
Flipped rap on its ear like I dropped corn
        Fuck top 5, bitch, I’m top 4
ANd that includes Biggie and Pac, whore
And I got an evil twin, so who do you think that’s 3rd and that 4th spot’s for?
And as crazy as I am I’m much tamer than him
And I’m nuts, then again who the fuck wants a plain Eminem?”

        Evil Twin is DOPE.

    9. The album is really fucking good better then I ever thought it could be and besides rap god the singles did actually end up being the weakest tracks which is what most hoped for. Some troll will call me a Stan but Em pulled it off 13 years later
