      1. yea im trolling a bit (its 420 bitch) but my opinion after all the albums & music i heard over the past 20 something years GKMC was the worst garbage i ever heard and deserves none of the hype its on the same level as lil b & soulja boy

      2. gkmc is on every “best albums of all time, all genre” lists and he deserves it.

This deserves every bit of this rating. This shit is a CLASSIC, in a few years, it will be remembered as better than Illmatic.

      1. In case you haven’t figured it out yet, they posted this in honor of 4/20 today. Let that marinate for a second.

      2. This album is ahead of its time. Perfection from start to finish.
The best hip-hop debut since Lupe Fiasco’s Food & Liquor.

    1. I respect kendrick as a rapper, and hes a great lyricist, but to call either of his works classics just doesnt seem right. I dont think youd play this over a stillmatic, blueprint, black abum, college dropout, life after death, etc. I dont see how someone can say its even close to those.

      1. This album is none of those. Its different. Those albums is over the top classics, no one will ever be able to compete with those cause of all these ignorant motherfuckers that claims hip hop is dead. Well, if its dead Kendrick is a zombie

      2. Section 80 isn’t better then any of those (besides maybe College Dropout) but GKMC is better then every single one of those albums.

    2. i don’t know about Kendrick. I don’t really like Trap Music anyway, and I feel like this dudes time has passed

      1. Yeah Texas420, Kyle and the last Anon are both right. You seriously DON’T know what trap music is or what it sounds like if you think Kendrick falls in to that category. The only reach is you thinking you know what you’re talking about

      1. I’ve NEVER heard anybody refer to him as “trap music”. What type pf dumb-ass niggas do you hang around? Lol

    3. he released one of the greatest albums of all time, so now hiphopdx is throwing back old verses 😀

      1. Since I’m certain you have the internet being that you posted this comment, please do yourself a favor and do research before you make yourself look uninformed. Kendrick’s career DID NOT start a few months ago… A quick Google search will prove that. Do your homework youngin’. K Dot, Kendrick Lamar EP, Overly Dedicated…

      2. wel maybe all yal should do ur research cuz he been havin multiple mixtapes since 2004. yhnic then training day

      3. no sleep til nyc dual mixtape wit jayrock. do it nigga squad kdot jayrock absoul punch and bo. all rize to da top and westcoast allstars. all under top dawg ent. been listening to him since 2005 wen he was a complete nobody. wen jayrock came out wit watts finest vol 1 and vol 2

    4. yeah; Amazing album. When I listen to it, it was more than music, it was a story of a person just like me with dreams, fear, dangers, trouble, happiness, adolescence and maturity. He stayed true to his roots he kept it original but different. God bless Kendrick Lamar and hip hop.

    5. This album is ahead of its time. Perfection from start to finish.
The best hip-hop debut since Illmatic

    6. I would die for Kendrick, he proved that the new generation can be better than the oldschool rappers, he dropped the best album in 10 years.

      congratz boi from Compton,

    7. Complex rhythm, complex flow, innovative flow, this man is changing the game, The soruce and XXl were right, he is a fucking monster !

    8. S80 isn’t as good as gkmc but this song is still a classic

gkmc is a more complex, complete and structured album, it makes s80 sounds like a mixtape but S80 is still better than most rapper career

      1. Upset because the long line and it’s taking too long for you to get your chance to “ride”, faggot?

    9. While I do think Kendrick is a dope MC/rapper, his album was not that great and I think Section.80 was better. It is what it is, deal with it.

    10. I agree that gkmc makes s80 sounds like a mixtape.

Glad to see gkmc being named in a lot of lists such as “best albums of all time”.

He deserves it, he made one of the best albums ever

    11. yeah I thought Section 80 was better but it took me 4 months to understand good kid maad city, it’s really deep.
I know think that section 80 is just a great album but gkmc is a certified reference of this generation, gkmc >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> section 80 and it’s not close at all

      1. Definitely agree.
GKMC is the most compelx album I have heard in 5 years.
Everything about the the beats on GKMC –hell, everything about that album– was meticulously thought out and executed in intricate fashion.
Kendrick redefined the meaning of album with gkmc, I don’t expect an artist to match the quality of this album in the next few years tbh.

      2. The most complex? It’s the obvious story of how a decent kid is culturally influenced by an awful community. Told cleverly through storytellin and a conceit. It’s good but if you want complex and creative, try Lupe’s The Cool.

      3. I don’t like Lupe anymore, but I admit The Cool is way over my head still… I’m sure if I checked on RapGenius I could figure it out, but as I said I don’t like Lupe anymore.

    12. With gkmc, Kendrick sounds like he has been doing this since he was born. I would already call good kid mAAD city a classic and that sh*t is clouds above everything else. Kendrick understands hip hop but its still good to revisit some old songs like blow my high

    13. gkmc is already a classic, would be great if S80 could become a classic as well even if s80 is his worst material.

      amazing song

    14. People say Ab-Soul’s better than Kendrick, didn’t Ab-Soul say “Doin’ it big like not little”… Seems like Soul is overrated.

      1. so you’re gonna take one line from him to make him seem like he’s not good? shut up you clearly haven’t listened to his Long Term albums or Control System

    15. this dude is this generations hiphop royalty easily.. he keeps workin hard and stickin to his fundementals of rap hes gonna go down as one of the greats

    16. I didn’t come on here to cry and complain about music. Honestly I came to listen to Kendrick do what he do best. I love this song. However, while yall supporting Kendrick yall should stop by my soundcloud and show a young nigga love. All feedback is welcome cause I do this for the love of the game no more no less.God Bless All feedback is welcome and even if you read this and go “Fuck that nigga” it’s still love fam. soundcloud.com/taz29

    17. Is this really a tribute? it sounds to ”me” like hes mocking Aaliyah…why does he do that evil laugh when she starts singing? ”TAKIN OFF WHERE YOU LANDIN” WOW…Shouts out Left eye and then says ‘dont blow my high” Idk it just sounds kind of disrespectful to ”me” R.I.P Aaliyah though.

      1. Thats not a evil laugh, thats a “thats dope af” laugh. You making up conspiracies even though Kendrick has said numerous times hes a God fearing man. RIP Aaliyah

    18. this song > than all of maddcity

the jig is up was dope as fuck

kendrick and cole lp going to be classic

they gotta keep it gritty tho

      kendricks best song is “hiiipower”
