Beyonce & JAY-Z Credited For Bringing 10M Visitors To The Louvre

Beyonce and Jay-Z’s “Apeshit” video has grown to become one of the hottest videos of 2018 since its release in June 2018. However, no one had any idea of the impact it would soon make on its venue, the Musée du Louvre in France.

The famed Paris museum says in a statement that they experienced the largest increase of visitors that no other museum in the world has had. In 2018, they have had 10.2 million visitors which was a 25 percent growth since 2017.

While the Musée du Louvre has credited its 2018 success to variables like the recovery of tourism in France, their flagship “Delacroix (1798–1863)” and the first anniversary of the Louvre Abu Dhabi, one of their biggest factors that played a role across the world, according to the statement, was Bey and Jay’s “Apeshit” video that has garnered nearly 150 million YouTube views to date.

While it’s hard to quantify how much of a role the viral video played entirely, it’s important to note that the year saw a significant rise in visits from tourists from countries like the United States, China, Brazil, and other European countries (such as Spain, Germany, Italy, and Great Britain).

Locally, 2018 drew 2.5 million more visitors than in 2017.

“I’m delighted that the Louvre is so popular,” says the Louvre’s president-director Jean-Luc Martinez. “Our goal is not so much to attract more visitors as to provide better visiting conditions. The recent changes we have made and are continuing to implement [like clearer signage, translation of texts, etc.] have improved the quality of visitor reception. The renovation of the infrastructures under the Pyramid and the introduction of time-slot tickets have helped us level out visitor numbers throughout the year and reduce ticket lines outside the museum. So, although there are more visitors, everyone can explore the Louvre at their own pace and appreciate the artworks to their heart’s content.”

The news comes after the beloved couple recently (and quietly) renewed their vows over the weekend according to TMZ. The two celebrated their 10-year wedding anniversary in an undisclosed location.

Like always, everything Carters touch becomes a diamond (pun intended).

      1. You want a guy who was is and always will be only in it for himself to be president? You want a guy who was reckless enough to jeopardize his family for a one night stand to be your president. You want a guy that pushed drugs on to the most down trodden helpless people in our society to be your president? You want the guy that dangles material things in the faces of poor youth to be your president? You deserve all the misery that is inevitably in your future.
