Although it was assumed that rappers Nicki Minaj and Eminem were joking when they “confirmed” their relationship on social media last week, Em recently took the opportunity to shoot his shot with Nicki in front of a crowd of hundreds.
During his performance at the Boston Calling Music Festival over the weekend, the Detroit rhymer was immediately met with cheers from the audience when he asked if they want him to date Nicki.
“How many people in Boston want me to date Nicki Minaj? Well, God dammit me too. Nicki, if you get this message just text me later. We’ll talk about it,” Eminem said during his set.
The dating rumors began when a fan on Instagram asked if Nicki was dating Eminem, who the Queens lyricist namedrops on YG’s recently released “Big Bank.”
Minaj simply replied with “yes” and Em soon chimed in, stating “girl you know it’s true.”
Due to the exchange between the two, a number of entertainment outlets reported Minaj and Eminem were in fact dating. But outside of their back-and-forth on Instagram, there haven’t been any other references to a romantic relationship.
Sources close to Minaj also cleared things up with TMZ on Friday (May 25), saying she was “only joking.”
