Eminem, 50 Cent & Timbaland Invest In Chinese Film, “Black Coal, Thin Ice”

Eminem, 50 Cent, Timbaland and New York Knicks forward Carmelo Anthony are among the investors in Black Coal, Thin Ice, according to Variety

The Chinese film, which follows the story of a one-time police officer and a mysterious woman who are tracking a serial killer, is scheduled to be released in China this week.

Black CoalThin Ice won the Golden Bear at the Berlin International Film Festival this year, which is the highest prize awarded for best film.

Daniel Victor, whose Boneyeard Entertainment, funded and co-produced the film, says the rappers and Anthony want to build a film company focused on China.

“It is now the second-largest market for films in the world after the U.S.,” Victor says during an interview with Variety. “Their film industry and box office are growing astronomically.”
