Canadian Emcee Jerzee Blends Rap, Rock On “The Cypher”

Jerzee, whose given name is Sean Virgil, is a Montreal native who hopes to showcase his crossover appeal by integrating Hip Hop flows with a Rock musicality.

The rapper’s latest effort, “The Cypher,” co-opts DJ Snake & Lil Jon’s “Turn Down For What,” which is currently the #5 single on Billboard magazine’s “Hot 100” chart. “Turn Down For What” has been on the chart for 22 weeks as of June 4, 2014.

Jerzee says “The Cypher” serves a distinct purpose.

Jerzee, who describes his sound as “a story of constantly crossing borders both physically and musically,” is set to release his High Off Life EP in September.

Jerzee is also the frontman for the Rock-Rap hybrid trio CrashDex, which also includes drummer Jarren Haymen and DJ Dun.
