Dr. Dre Split Addressed By Hittman In Guest Verse; Video Released

Former Aftermath Entertainment artist and 2001 collaborator Hittman chose to address his relationship with Dr. Dre and their fallout in music form by addressing the matter on a guest verse featured on rapper/songwriter Asoka’s record, “The Humble Hustle.”

On his verse, Hittman speaks on going from having “an illustrious career” to raising funds for a project of his through Kickstarter.

On “The Humble Hustle,” Hittman raps:

“Spitting for Andre til he said ‘Stop, that’s all I gotta hear’ / Then and right there, dreamed of ballin’ and gear / All-in-all an illustrious career / Well, I thought wrong. Thought I was on. Got hella gonged / Now I’m on Kickstarter pledging like a telethon for project funding /Sometimes stepping stones are really blocks for stumbling / Opting out my contract, was it a smart or dumb thing / The block is mumbling / My hustle’s not a fun thing. It’s stressful and humbling, for real.”

Hittman was heavily featured on Dr. Dre’s second solo album, 2001. On the album, which was released in 1999, Hittman appears on 10 of the tracks featured on the LP.

Years following the release of Dre’s 2001, Hittman released his only studio album titled Hittmanic Verses.

Asoka’s “The Humble Hustle” music video is slated to premiere on September 24.

    1. Dre should use his Apple money to give back to all the artists that he signed and never got a chance to release an album.

      1. Clearly you don’t know what the fuck your talking about. I’m from LA so I had a phase where I’ve been checking for this guy’s music and the only reason he was able to be the lazy ass is 2001 paycheck. He even said it on his interview with Dubcc that 2001 checks fed him. That was 2010ish, more than 10 years of 2001’s release date.

In interviews, dude always talked about he has this project or that project but he was all just talk. We never saw any of those projects. His album Murder Weapon wasn’t even released properly because labels wanted to have some kind of meeting with him to see his ability and he’s response was “I’m Hittman, I’ve proved myself, I don’t need to do that” type of shit. I know cause this dumbfuck was stupid enough to say it in his interviews.

      2. Even if that happened that roster of bums would still find a way to fuck up. Dre knows whose hungry vs. whose starving.

    2. I mean, unless dude signed the most fucked up contract in history he should still be getting residuals from “2001” though. Shit went 8 x’s platinum and he was on like 12 songs. I only mention this because a few years ago Devin the Dude was being interviewed and joked that his verse from “2001” still gets him occasional checks and shit.

    3. Knoc-turn all and hittman > kendrick Lamar.

I wish dre stayed working with Knoc and hittman. Both have made better music then kendrick and other new aftermath artists.

      1. Knoc -Turnal. That’s a name I haven’t heard in a while. I remember when his career was just starting to take off and. Napster was out at the time and we already had the advance copy of the album months before it came out. The label scraped it and/or got released with little promo and he got dropped.

Kendrick is okay but he doesn’t catch my attention like that. I mean, shit, anyone can sound good on a Dre beat.
I even kinda hoped for Slim the Mobster album but that didn’t happened neither.

      2. Actually, Kendrick rapped on “The Recipe”…one of the illest songs kendrick has done, not a hit, but none the less it was a dope song.

    4. I was just wondering where this dude was not to long ago. He arguable made chronic 2001 what it was aside from the groundbreaking production. Shame he got fucked over smh wish the best for the dude

    5. The thing about Dre is if you get signed by him, you have to hope he is in work mode at that time. The Game was signed and quickly put out his first album along with 50 Cent’s first. Bishop Lamont, Rakim, Raekwon, Hittman, etc. Just waited and waited.

      1. ^Game was signed to aftermath in 2002 look at the first invasion mixtape by green lantern

and he was in the in the club video before they put him on gunit

and look at the documentary credits 50s name is on songs he wasn’t featured on

      2. GTFOH Game was on aftermath for a year before Jimmy and Dre decided the joint venture with G-unit because of 50’s Buzz back then. Do your homework you ignorant hip-hoppers

      3. Rakim had his shot, but refused to make the type of music Dre wanted him to make. He got kicked to the curb. That’s on Rakim. Stupid motherfucker blew a great chance to make some cash, and possibly have a platinum album which could have opened other doors.

    6. Drop Detox with only chronic 2001 dude’s no more nate dogg which sucks, but now we have kendrick. Not a trade off just lost a great artist gained a great artist. No The Game, No 50 Cent, No any other artists.

    7. This dude is a lazy mothafucker. He literally did nothing after 2001 dropped. He was living with 2001 money until now and let his fans down for almost 15 years now wow.

Knoc-Turn’al atleast attempted to get his career going but Hittman was a lazy fuck who’s head got way too big. He’s just another “Some LA N*****”

      1. Back under the bridge you troll, you are misinformed! Uninspired maybe, but lazy GTFOH! How does a lazy muthafucka end up on 10 + songs on any album?!

    8. I GUESS APPLE DIDNT DO A BACKGROUND CHECK,,,ANDRE YOUNG BEAT WOMEN ON MULTI TIMES AND ALL U FUC BOYZ N BITCH BOYASS NIGGAZ DICK RIDE THIS FUGAZZI HOMO PAC TOLD YA

    9. Hittman is absolute dog shit and will never make it.

Dre hasn’t released an album since 1999.

The amount of irrelevance here is amazing…

    10. dumb nigga was basically spitting the same shoot em up bang bang shit everyone else spits and he thought he was gonna have a successful career? lmao

you ain’t special nigga, be original
