Will Smith’s Overbrook Entertainment is creating a Fresh Prince of Bel-Air remake, according to TVLine.
The rapper-actor will serve as executive producer for the television series based on the original sitcom in which he starred from 1990-1996.
The reboot will be set in modern times. It is not decided yet if the show will be a continuation of the Banks’ family story from the original show or a new storyline.
The pitch is being finalized and will be shopped around to networks within the coming weeks.
Smith’s wife, Jada Pinkett-Smith, is also named as a producer for the show, as are her brother Caleeb Pinkett and James Lassiter. The latter worked with the actor on I Am Legend, The Pursuit of Happyness and Hancock.
Smith is also partnering with Jay Z to make a miniseries documenting the life of Emmett Till, a Black teenage boy who was murdered in 1955 for reportedly whistling at a White woman.
Make it were will got his life in order he got married and have kids of his own that are now teenagers getting into micheif like he did back in the days have Carlton in it and Ashley and Hillary
With Vivian making the odd appearance as well.
That’s probably the goal…. it’ll probably have Will married to Jada, and they have mischievous kids named Willow and Jaden, and it’ll probably focus on those kids which will make the reboot nothing but another attempt of Will and Jada throwing their real weird kids in your face again.

Usually, reboots don’t do justice for me, but I’ll give this one a shot. And RIP to Uncle Phil.
This show will fail horribly.. It will never have the.charisma the original one had unless will star in it himself..
It’s gonna be about Will’s children and their misadventures. Will will make appearances, and be more mature than he was in the original but still a little crazy. A running joke in the show will be about how Will acts more like his uncle Phil with his children, and in one episode he will have a midlife crisis and dress like he did in the old series in order to relive his youth.
