Dr. Dre & Jimmy Iovine Accused Of Fraud In Monster Lawsuit

    Both Dr. Dre and Jimmy Iovine have been named in a lawsuit filed against Beats By Dre by their headphone rival, Monster.

    AllHipHop.com reports that in the lawsuit, Monster CEO Noel Lee stated that Monster was the co-designer of Beats By Dre and invented the technology behind the headphones. Lee added that Dr. Dre and Iovine “committed fraud in pirating the headphones away from Lee and Monster.”

    In a past interview with AllHipHop.com, Lee detailed how his partnership with Dr. Dre and Iovine came about.

    “When I hooked up with Jimmy Iovine and Dr. Dre, almost six years ago, headphones weren’t a thing. They were an accessory,” Lee said while speaking with AllHipHop.com last year. “What I really learned from Jimmy and Dre was how to market to basically pop culture. They had the power to do that.
