In a new pair of head-to-head video segments, Complex compares Tupac and The Notorious B.I.G. with a respective argument about why each emcee is better.
The “10 Reasons Tupac Is Better Than Biggie” video features the argument that Pac “was more political than Biggie” as well as a note that the legendary Makaveli artist was a more prolific recording artist than his Brooklyn counterpart.
The video for the opposing view cites Biggie’s ghostwriting, diverse flows, and providing a platform for female artists as reasons why he’s a better emcee.

Neither is better than the other. They both have their own flows that say them apart from the competition. Ppl only have their favorites. My favorite happens to be BIG. Is the same in sports add it is in entertainment, I piss ppl off when I say that MJ isn’t the best bball player of all time, he was simply a lot of ppls favorite. And to watch him play I can understand, but there will always come someone better because that person will imitate the greats that come before and put their own funk on it.
2PAC >>>>>>>> BIGGIE
BIGGIE WOULD HAVE DIED ANYWAY EVEN IF HE LIVED CUZ HE FAT
both fake compared to big gucci. Balerina wanna be thug and a fake tough guy fat boi. Free the realest nigga to hol a mic Gucci Mane
I hear you, Tupac was fake as shit and biggie wasn’t nothing but a poser.
Biggie wasnt fake he sold drugs adn Pac was just a wannabe who never sold drugs
Tupac was a waaaay better artist than Biggie . And maybe even a better rapper at times too . Biggie was overrated he died with 2 albums , and both were overrated to me . Biggies best song was Everyday Struggle ” The song with the most substance . He had songs like One More Chance , Juicy , and Big Poppa that were really good hits and songs you can play in the club and groove to and vibe to . But Tupac was just deeper with his songs and as an artist .
Tupac had songs like Brendas got a baby , Letter To My Unborn , Keep Ya Head up , Dear Mama , I Aint mad at Cha , Pain , Pour out a little liquor , Death around the corner . Do For Love . I CAN GO ON AND ON . You get the point RIP TUPAC AND BIGGIE
This goes to show the rap game is wack because THEY GOT TO go back and drag this subject up its almost 20yrs old, rap is at a all time low point of thug homos skinny jeans and those who serve the devil !

how can you compare a 20 albums artist to a 2 albums artist??!!
how can you compare a artist worth based solely on numbers??!!
revise your logic if thats the defining factor.
These top 10 lists made biggie seem better. Lol
I think the number 5 one said it all.
Biggie was the king of New York in the golden era.
That’s when nas, Jay z, mobb deep, the wu tang clan etc were at there best and biggie was still the biggest rapper in the game and the best from the east coast.
Biggie is also the most bitten rapper of all time.
He made 5 albums worth of material. His first album and a 2 disc double album for his second. If you include half of puffys debut and junior mafias album then you have four albums. Add all his features and unreleased tracks and freestyles then you have 5 or maybe 6 albums worth of material.
The greatest emcee to ever live in my opinion.
Honorable mention to rakim, Krs one, nas and Jigga.
Biggie had better flow, but ‘Pac had better lyrics, as well as more heart. I personally prefer lyricism over flow and I love ‘Pac’s more overtly political stance. To each; their own.
This has always been a very interesting topic. I’ve nailed it down to this: both are very talented, but in their own lanes. Neither is best but, depending on individual preferences, one is more influential than the other. For me, it was Pac. His lyrics and topics resonated with me more tan biggie’s did. But I loved what biggie brought to the game. I also feel that both these guys had influence on one another.
Biggie was the total package:
– flows
– lyrics
– he was witty
– had charisma
– was no hater
– could battle
– could freestyle
– able to hardcore songs, name he done it.
– could tel stories
Pac was just an average mc, VERY CONTRADICTING RAPPER but had a lot of passion. End of the story!
Stop acting like your opinion is a fact. Your opinion is worthless. Now fuck outta here.
Biggie is not a better MC than Tupac. He is nice but didn’t put in nearly enough work. The only reason he is this big legend is because Tupac was already huge and had a beef with him. To compare the two should be illegal. Tupac not only made music, real music about real problems in our community and not the Mafioso lifestyle that BIG rapped about but wasn’t really about, but had movies, he was a great actor and even wrote scripts, poetry and so on. Tupac has like 20 albums out compared to BIG’s 2 albums and that’s all BIG had, those two albums. He was nice but please slow the fuck down before you crash and smash your whole shit up lol
I’m confused? How does pac have 20 albums and biggie only 2? Correct me if I’m wrong but pac released 5 albums with one being a double disc. So technically he released 6 albums. Officially.
Biggie released 2 albums won one being double disc so he released 3 albums.
Now if your counting all of pacs material which is unreleased stuff and stuff suge knight put out that pac would never have wanted out then yes you can add more to his body of work. And that being generous I would add 3 or 4 albums worth of material to that list. So let’s say he had 10 albums worth of released material—- biggie alongside his 3 albums had junior mafia album, puffs album and numerous cameos and unreleased songs. So he had maybe 5 albums worth of material. 6 if being generous.
The facts are biggie did more with his 3 official albums then pac with his 6 (I’m including double disc albums as 2 albums)
So you only listen to people of how many records they sold and how many albums they have…*SMH*….Guys if you only listen to people of how many records they sold, then I feel sorry for you :/, by that logic you must like Lil Wayne or Drake because they sold a lot of record plus they sold more than Tupac and Biggie combined, its like me saying…Drake or Lil Wayne will shit on Tupac and Biggie because those 2 sold more…..Biggie is by far the better RAPPER…..Notice how i capitalized rapper…Because there is a huge difference between a rapper(Biggie) and an artist(Tupac)…….And real shit…i dont hate Tupac…in fact i love him. But there is just WAY to many people saying that Pac is the best…I agree that he is great…But compared to Biggie at rapping…Biggie leaves Tupac at a staring Line, and If you don’t know, Biggie and Pac came out of the Golden Era of Hip Hop (Late ’80s to mid ’90s), and there were A LOT of underrated rappers, and if you say that Pac was the greatest out of that Era….ima need your ass to lay of the crack XD
Nas is way better than both of them im sick of these 2 being praised as gods just becasue they were in a “beef” during the golden era and died getting sympathy points from everyone. good rappers but not anything mindblowing jesus christ people
Your a little kid and your trying to act like you know?
Please. Biggie, pac and snoop were the biggest rappers in the game in the mid 90s. Had nothing to do with beef. Biggie was the biggest rapper in the game. The number 1 hip hop artist. The beef between pac and big on wax didn’t happen until pac was out of jail.
Your probably a little young to remember but the way the hip hop girly fans of today talk about kendrick, drake, lil Wayne and kanye etc and all these other wack rappers was nothing compared to how they talked about biggie, pac, snoop, death row and bad boy records. Remember this was the golden era this is when nas, wu tang clan, Jay z, onyx, cnn, Mobb deep, AZ etc were at there peak and none of them were on the same level as biggie.
biggie is da best. east coast all day!
almost everything on pacs list has nothing to do with rap
Tupac is only popular because of the content of his songs, hit em up is definitely not the greatest diss track ever, Pacs lyrics in that track are nothing but him bitching, they have zero creativity. Comparing album sales is stupid because Pac has released many more albums than Biggie, Pac may have more total sale but even with all those albums none of them sold more than Life After Death. When it came to raw rapping ability its always gonna be BIG, he had better flow, better lyrics, and his disses were better to, he didnt even have to mention a rappers name, he didnt need too because thats how skilled he was. BIG = King of Hip Hop
LOL. The makaveli album alone sold 28million times which is 2 more million than all of Biggies albums put together.
Biggie will forever be one of the top 5 artist in the game ever !! But I truly believe Tupac was more profilic, more of a story teller, more political!! In the game, Tupac will always be the best rapper ever like Micheal Jordan the best NBA player ever!!
pac was the best . dear mama .can’t rate with any of big album
