A new MTV article ranks all of T.I.’s albums from worst to best.
The piece, written by Rob Markman, touches on all nine of T.I.’s albums as fans look ahead to the rapper’s upcoming Paperwork release, set for stores on Tuesday (October 21).
MTV ranks T.I.’s sophomore album Trap Muzik as his best, noting that upon its release in 2003, “trap music wasn’t the hip-hop sub-genre it is today, and the idea of a southern dope boy as a rap star was foreign.” Following directly behind, 2006’s King is placed at #2. “Not only did he land a starring role in ATL, he earned his first Billboard/number one album with King,” Markman writes.
T.I.’s 2004 release Urban Legend fills out the top three on MTV’s list and is followed by Paper Trail and Trouble Man: Heavy is the Head at #4 and #5 respectively. T.I.’s new album Paperwork holds the #6 spot on the list with Markman commenting that the emcee “raps for a broader audience, but he keeps it all the way hood on” his latest Young Thug featuring single.
The list is capped off by I’m Serious at #7, T.I. vs. T.I.P. at #8, and No Mercy at #9.

In July, T.I. explained his upcoming album as an extension of his most commercially successful record in Paper Trail.
“I think one of my most diversified albums and I guess the most commercially successful has been Paper Trail,” he said. “I always wanted to do a continuation of that but without saying, ‘Part 2.’ I just tried to figure out another way to relate this next project to that one without making it a sequel.”

I’m Serious should be #1 or #2. Empty bars? That shows you how perception can guide someone’s thoughts. That album wasn’t worse than any others, it’s just the label didn’t know how to push him.
It showcased his versatility from his first album. It covered all themes. The song “What happened” with him confronting the devil had some great storytelling. MTV was wrong on this one. No fan is going to put I’m Serious at #7. SMH
TI number #1 album is I’m Serious…you can actually put that album and let it bump from beginning to end…the lyrical content on is bananas…but since folk really didn’t know about TI then they gone ride with trap musik
KING is by far T.Is best album to date…then its Urban Legend, Paper Trail, Trap Muzik, Trouble Man, No Mercy, T.I vs. T.I.P then last but not least Im Serious .
And the best recorded. Great producers and top industry engineers and mastering. Sonically it sounds amazing

I think KING was his best then I’m Serious, once T.I. made it a priority to include token white artists on his albums it diluted the albums and watered them down so those are the ones at the bottom.
