    1. Mannnnn jay-elect on point as always….. lets get the album out already…..rip guru..death to solar! peace

    2. This is PROPER! Jay Elec + ‘Preme = Instant Eargasms! Roc Nation needs to do some crazy collabo’s over Premo beats…Jigga stop frontin’ and get it done!
      Guru rest in peace.

    3. kinda wierd how they say jay z worships the devil & all this shit, but yet j. cole & jay elec praise the lord in thier songs, & they’re all on the same label…

      1. well, welcome to the record business – glad you could make it

it’s been around a little while

now “contradiction” – jeez – that’s MUCH MUCH MUCH MUCH OLDER

    4. This is the best thing I’ve heard from Jay Elec all year. Love it RIP GURU.

Like that dude below me said, Jay Elec got me like fiend to hear a new mixtape.

    5. i swear him and lupe NEEED!! to make a track together…hell a full project would be dope as fuck yo. who’s wit me? lol

      1. I heard Lupe said they had talked about that possibility. That would be amazing!! Doubt it will happen anytime soon if at all. Plus they’re both such perfectionists that it would take them forever to put it out.
Anyway.. Lets just enjoy this for now. This song is sick!! We miss ya Guru

    6. dont make me pull the toys out HUH dont make me pull the tooooooooooooooooooys and fire up the engine HUH and then it make NOIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII IiiiiiiiIIIiIIIIIIIIseeee!!

Yawl need to be on that Yezzy album.

    7. damn Jay-E’s flow makes me love hip-hop all over again. i cant wait to see him get it in with Jay-Z,J.Cole,Ye,Pusha-Tand the rest of good music. he will draw all the illl producers like Premo,PeteRock to get on that project simply because Jay Elect represents that bridge of the essence of the old school with a new school swagger.

      his album will be powerful.

    8. This is dope! True “boom bap” style! Smooth & mellow track! Youngsta’s pay attention! THIS IS YOUR EXAMPLE OF REAL HIP HOP FOR THE NEW SCHOOL!!!

    9. the reason why this guy is a class act is because he used to be homeless and he turned his life around dramatically so i wouldnt expect anything other then REAL SOUL on his tracks.

    10. dang this dude can kick it better than just about anyone else out there!

its weird hearing him make references to current events cuz he sounds so old school

    11. This shit is wack. Who names themselves after some genre that he doesn’t even represent. Plus only fags like Electro music. Listen to real hip hop like my nigga Gucci Mane

      It’s Gucci Time!

      1. I DON’T EVEN HAVE TO LISTEN TO THIS TRACK TO KNOW YOU HAVE NO CLUE WHAT UR TALKIN ABOUT, THIS IS HIP-HOP!!!!!!! THE CULTURE THAT MOTHERED THIS WHOLE SHIT SO RAPPERS, NOT EMCEES, LIKE GUCCI MANE CAN HAVE A OPPORTUNITY TO CAPATILIZE ON OUR HARDWORK!!!!!!!!

      2. real hiphop – Gucci?

damn you must be a lil white boy. bet your bumping nelly right now to…

if you dont kno j elct then….

    12. Definitely fire, but I give it a 4 because the opening music was to long and he needed to drop one more verse. J Cole, Jay Electronica, and Sha Stimuli need to drop some official product before Valentines Day.

      1. so you’re the mother fucker that messed up the perfect 5!? hahahah kidding. shit is straight. Unfortunately, Jay Elec will be labeled Illuminati in no time, folks. Dude is ill.

      2. cmon man u messed up the perfect 5. plus the intro was very thoughtful, and made Jay-E’s entrance worthwhile.

cant go wrong with MLK! 🙂

    13. What’s the hype of this ugly faggot? This pussy is a pussy for signing with Gay-Z and his gay labelmates Gay Cole. Fuck mainstream rap. Listen to Jedi Mind Tricks.

      1. lol jedi mind tricks. most new hip hop sucks.. we know this but if you knew anything about real hip hop you’d recognize how fucking dope his first line was. quoted from “The Planet” switched up with the grey hound. shit is fully dope. props jay elec. rip guru

      2. It cracks me up when these dumbfucks say “fuck mainstream rap!” I listen to JMT, they are fuckin’ sick, but Vinnie is no better than Crooked I imo, both sick wordplay and rhyme schemes. But you’d proly say fuck Crooked coz he’s mainstream… You try and make yourself sound superior to other rap fans by hyping independent artists that they might not have heard of. BS.

      3. no shit. thank you person above me. i Mean god damn you dont even kno the difference between so called “mainstream” and underground, If this dude is that so called word becuase he hasnt even put out a fuckin album or been on the radio hes that word. i dont give a fuck if he mainstreaml], underground, purple or god damn poka dotted. dudes sick. so open your eyes and listen to some real music. dude can spit. even jedi mind tricks would be saying he could.

      4. man thats the problem with hip-hop music to many of it’s listeners are to polarized.

damn can’t you respect different types of hip hop. besides jay electronica is more relative then jedi minds tricks.

    14. … I’m disappointed you gave the song a 4 because the dude decided to drop a snippet of the “I Have A Dream” speech…. somebody needs to put your ass in timeout.

And Jay almost always does that in his tracks. I always appreciate it, I usually find the source and enlighten myself for a little bit. I appreciate his knack for finding good inspirational tidbits from history before dropping deep and thoughtful verses. I feel a little smarter everytime I get through chewing on the food for thought he puts on his tracks.

Much love, I hope he keeps making music like this and that him and J. Cole start doing some extensive work. “Just Begun” was the beginning of a legacy.

      1. You do know that MLK have more than one speech and that isnt “The I Have A Dream Speech” The speech you are hearing in the beginning was delivered this speech in support of the striking sanitation workers at Mason Temple in Memphis, TN on April 3, 1968 — the day before he was assassinated.

      2. yeah. I realized this was the “I’ve Been To The Mountaintop” speech after I said that. Pardon the temporary ignorance.

That was a very very moving speech too, I looked it up in its entirety.

      1. He been puttin’ in work, didn’t come out of no where. But I’m not arguing I agree with you he’s nice wit it.

    15. i’ve seen the promise land.. i want you to know tonight, that we as a people will get to the promise land.. i’m not worried about anything i do not fear any man.. my eyes have seen the glory.. .

      jay electronica is dope

jay-z is signing artists now, i love the new blueprint of development and team additions.. roc nation

    16. i mean no one is touching jay electronica lyrically…the only artist i can even say surpasses him is nas…and only because of his longevity and not necessarily his content in lyrics

    17. @Beanz: I agree with you. Jay Electronica is one of the best out right now! Finally real hip-hop can make it into the mainstream again…

      The new three-headed monster (tripe J): J. Electronica, J.Cole, J.Z.

    18. 72 out of 73 gave him a 5. WHO was that one mentally incompetent individual that gave him less than a 5? Who? lmfao

We want relevant content in Hip-Hop…support it! Onelove!

      1. I gave him a 4 because the track is five minutes long and his verses add up to less than two minutes. I like the song, but who wants three plus minutes of MLK samples and chorus’.

    19. R.I.P to GURU! Jay elect… u need to drop that album son, i hope him signing with the Roc isn’t like Lebron signing with the Heat, DOPE!!!

    20. mark my motherfuckin words jay elec is coming out with his debut album within this month. hes been dropping tracks left and right. ITS COMING NIGGGAAA ITS MOTHAFUCKIN COMING!!

    21. I’ma 5 it because it was dope but i would have loved a third verse.

Roc Nation 2tuff right now, Hov building a long lasting empire.

    22. this fuckin so wack dogg, how da fuck u guna bump dis gay ass shit in yo whip? da hoes gon laff at yo ass,yo niggas guna laff at yo ass, nigga diss shit ain’t bout nuttin nigga 5 stars my ass nigga, shit.yall dx niggas need ta get yo ears fixed nigga

    23. Jay Electronica makes me remember how beautiful and excellent this art expression we call Hip Hop can be…

Jay Electronica just makes me smile…

Thank you Jay Electronica for loving, Respecting and Appreciating this culture.

    24. never really gave this dude a chance back in 08-09 with exhibits. but now realize this man is nice with the mic. 90% of his material (limited) is better than your favorite rappers best material

    25. FUCK, THIS THAT NEW NIGGA TO LOOK FOR IN 2011!! WORD!! JAY ELEC AND KHALIFA, THEM NIGGAS IS DOIN ITFOR REAL!! 5/5

      1. We do. It’s not a race thing, asshole. Ignorant people listen to ignorant music; intelligent people listen to intelligent music. Everyone else listens to pop. Unfortunately, we’re a dying breed, so guess who’s popular? Lil Wayne. That’s not because of white people. That’s because of 95% of stupid people in America, and white people happen to be a part of that percentage, just like Blacks, Hispanics, Asians, etc.

    26. Take those damn year end award side banners down! Accidently clicked one while the song was playing, it was a terrible experience waiting for the new page to load so I could click back to this one. As for the song, I could listen to it all day, I am a HUGE Gang Starr fan and I am becoming a HUGE Jay Electronica fan. RIP Guru, long live Jay Electronica. Let’s see a DJ Premier/Jay Electronica collabo album!

    27. Songs brings tears to my eyes.
I first met GURU back in 2004 in Puerto Rico.
Then got the chance to meet him again in 2005 in LA. I’ve got a signed poster of him and a pic with him!!! Truly one of the greatest!!
He represents what HIPHOP is really all about!!! Staying Real….and speaking the Truth!!!
      Thanks Jay!!!
      God Bless HipHOp!!
      We miss you Guru!!!
      ONE LOVE

    28. Real Hiphop yall lets get back too it.all my j. cole followers stand up RRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOCCCCCCCCCCCC Nation Big up HOVA

    29. CLEAR!! Jay is bringing it back to life. I can’t wait for his album. And on a side note, referessing to hear the MLK into.

FYI.. to RT… whites are listening too my friend. No need to worry about that 🙂 Hip Hop lives… Peace.

    30. Well constructed. This is hiphop. Full of aspects of literature that bring it all together. Electronica is heading in the right direction with this one.

    31. loving this shit!

    35. Historian Rapper, Lame. It sounds lyrically conceptualize, but….not my cup of tea. I have history class, where I learn more briefly about civil right movement.

      1. group home was some of his best beats ever. why sample gangstarr when your not going to use gurus raps and when you can get a better prem beat?
