Not gonna lie, I slept on this dude. Mateen Cleaves came on stage(it was at MSU lol) and told us this dude Jon Connor was legit, who woulda thought Mateen had the next best thing, Jon Connor steals every song he gets on, he outdoes everybody 5/5.

Also, not all Jon’s song’s are the same. Some are introspective, some are real talk (salute to Freddie Gibbs here) others are more metaphor-heavy, American Psycho is just nuts. The versatility of the rapper is what makes them one of the greats – old school or new school – the ability to cover a spectrum of topics is always better. 2pac, for example, rapped about almost every topic you could think of – not just thug life – and was able to reach a much larger audience because of that. Brenda’s got a baby & Life Goes On are not my favorite 2pac songs, but they undoubtably raised his popularity nonetheless. And no offense, I consider Pac to be the GOAT in my own opinion, but he was not the best metaphorically and neither was B.I.G.
