J. Cole – Cole World

Here’s the sorta title track to J. Cole’s new album dropping next week.

398 thoughts on “J. Cole – Cole World

    1. Cole really is bringing back that raw lyrical style back to the forefront in mainstream like Biggie, Nas, Common, Pac had in the early to mid 90s. What about rapper is putting out a song as real as Lost Ones and Breakdown and then coming out with lyrical catchy club joints like this and Can’t Get Enough??? Noboby touchin Cole right now.

    2. Songs cool, and the guy should get supported by hip hop fans, but either some of the lyrics are over my head, or mad corny

    3. I think J.Cole should have went harder, considering this is his DEBUT album and you want to have good sales.

But overall, I’d rate his album a 7.5/10..
I’ve heard the entire album through download and I plan to buy his album when it drops.

      1. whats funny is that drake is not even a part of this song and you cant help but to summon him. so tired of you drake obsessed j.cole fans who can’t support j.cole without thinking about what drake is doing. and dissing drake will not make this song any less mediocre. get a new defense you bitter ass drake stan.

    4. Disappointed… I really thought this dude would be bringin that heat. It’s cool but way short of what I expected. For F’s sake chill out with the sallie mae lines

    5. Cole should have left production to someone else. Come with some rhymes first kid then try your hand at the boards; especially on your debut. Still a hot album though. Got my money Sept. 27

      1. I guess some people just have a real big difference in opinion over production, then. I’m ecstatic that he did most of the production. J. Cole is one of my favorites behind the boards nowadays.

    6. YO J.COLE LISTEN … YOUR BEATS ARE GARBAGE, IM BEING DEAD HONEST, YOU CANNOT MAKE INSTRUMENTALS AT ALL. YOU’RE A GOOD RAPPER BUT YOUR BEATS SUCK MY NIGGA.

    7. Cole is a lyrical monster. He shredded this beat. He’s a way better rapper than Kanye and eventually will be on Kanye’s level as a producer.

    8. lol yall should’ve put out Sideline Story instead of this hip hop dx. This, Nice Watch & Work Out are the only skippables.

    9. J. Cole needs to stop producing and just focus on his lyrics (which have been decreasing after FNL). Let somebody else produce for him. Stop trying to sing his hooks. And now his flow is whack.

The Warm Up > FNL >>>>> Sideline Story

    10. take out work out, in the morning, cant get enough, mr. nice watch and this track….put in before im gone, grown simba, relaxation, return of simba and heartache and you have yourself a classic album…

i like cant get enough and in the morning, put if your sayin ur albums classic, you cant have them onit

overall a sik album tho, this track gets 2/5
cole world: the sideline story gets 7.5/10

i downloaded the album yesterday, but i will be buyin it when it drops, FUCK WAYNE

      1. Mr. Nice Watch was a requirement for the Jay Z even if it was underwhelming.

Can’t Get Enough and In the Morning were the required girl songs. I would have been ok with keeping one of them (preferably Can’t Get Enough)

I actually like Work Out a lot, so whatever there.

Adding the two Simba tracks (or all three if you wanted to go balls out) would have been wonderful. I also would have really liked Blow Up.

My standards for a classic album are very high and I don’t think Cole could have done anything to create what I think of as a Classic, but I’ve had this album so far on constant loop for two days now and already have the preorder set.

In terms of albums of the year, this is an easy top 5 for me (Section.80, All 6’s and 7’s, Hell: the Sequel, and Watch The Throne being the other four included).

      2. imagine this j. cole album

        intro
        dollar and a dream 3
        simba
        relaxation
        interlude
        sideline story
        grown simba
        rise and shine
        blow up
        breakdown
        nobodys perfect
        heartache
        gods gift
        lost ones
        never told
        return of simba

        THAT WOULD BE A CLASSIC

    11. Hip hopDX. STOP LEAKING this album.

This is also definitely the worst song (and beat) on the album. J. Cole definitely has some fire production on there and some great songs. It’s not a “first listen everything’s hot” kinda album. It’s one that will last awhile though. BUY it when it comes out like I will.

      1. HHDX isn’t in the business of supporting artists. They are in the business of making money. And on a site like this, the #1 money maker is ad revenue via page views. How do you get page views? You give people music they want to hear. You give people the music first and people are going to come and check it out instead of some other website trying to do the same thing.

Righteous indignation isn’t going to change the game.

      2. when you start getting all moral and complaining about every leak and not just j.coles then ill take your bitch ass seriously.

    12. These comments on individual songs are pointless in context to an album. An album has to be judged as a whole collection of songs and not a bunch of stand alone tracks. If you haven’t heard the whole album you can’t really judge any individual track. You can’t say an album isn’t good or classic because you’ve heard one song or even ten, you got to play it all.

    13. You people are stupid..shit is a 5, all you friggin people who bought lil wayne and sit there critisizing this mans work, get a life

      1. In terms of sales/success:
        – Watch the Throne
        – Carter IV
        – All 6’s and 7’s (didn’t do nearly the same numbers, but for an independent release, it was a massive success)

In terms of actual album quality
        – Watch The Throne
        – Cole World
        – Section.80
        – All 6’s and 7’s

      2. Watch the Throne is album of the year, but i heard coles album and its pretty damn good, i liked some songs off Carter IV, RED album has some bangers too, Take Care will most likely be a great album also….but like i said WTT= new classic

      3. I’m going to have to disagree with you a little on this. I’m not E-thug, but strictly my opinion. In terms of success and sales, you’re dead on.

As far as quality….I don’t think Watch The throne was no. 1. Why??? Production-wise…STELLAR!!!!!! Lyrically weak considering it was Jay-Z and Kanye…VERY WEAK LYRICALLY TO THEIR USUAL STANDARDS!!!

The Carter 4….I loved the growth in Waynr lyrically, but the production sucked ass. From what I’ve from it, I’m going to have to go with Styles P for the quality crown, with Kendrick Lamar a very close second.

As far as J. Cole is concerned…I like to use the analogy of the dude around the hood with sick ass lyrics, but he’s no star. J. Cole NEEDED the Rihanna rumor and leak to generate some buzz. I’ve said plenty of times, that dude is a certified beast lyrically…BUT ONLY TRUE HIP HOP FANS ARE SAYING THAT “I NEED TO COP THAT J. COLE ALBUM”.

My opinion…not law. And no…this is not a 5* song.

      4. it’s a toss up but now, edge goes to C4..but we still got Take, Cole World (even tho it leaked) & Slaughterhouse albulm left to c which is da best

      5. Watch the throne-JAY AND YE
        Greatest story never told-saigon
All 6’s and 7’s ……………………………………………………………………………………….cole world. its good and I might even get it to support Cole but its not a classic but decent first album he should have alot more coming.

    14. this cant be one of the track from the album he was talking about that he was comparing to jay-z blueprint. really? this niggah cant be serious

    15. Listen to the Album as a Whole a collective, its a great album, i Would not call it a clasic yet, but its a great debut! Cold World!.

    16. 4 stars.

I’m disappointed in how Roc Nation mishandled a talent like J Cole. They screwed him but I’m glad to see he is starting to get some shine. Hopefully it’s not too late.

      1. wait so he’s the moron because he doesnt listen to illegal music? how backwards are you? This guy listened to the music provided as promo for the album on official sites. You illegally downloaded the album early and you have the nerve to look down on him? You dumbass cunt. I’ve heard the singles and I didnt like what i heard therefore I’m not buying the album. But I’d rather not buy it then illegally download the shit then act like i didnt something good.

    17. Why does HHDX pick the worst songs from rappers’ albums?
Why do posters listen to a few songs and act like they listened to the entire album?

      1. because we dont go out of our way to listen to unauthorized leaks dick head. That’s why artists create singles to promote the albums. Cole’s single are just bad. He can’t make good commercial music. So based on the official material available people draw their conclusions. Not everyone is a fucking leech that spends all day on the internet downloading illegal music.

    18. Best songs from the album:
Dollar and a Dream 3, Breakdown, Sideline Story, God’s Gift, Lost Ones, Cheer Up, Nothing Lasts Forever

    19. 1.Sideline Story
      2.Rise and Shine
      3.Cole World

Not a Hardcore Fan but these are my favorites, Hate if you want, It’s No Skin Off My Dick.

    20. Just listened to the whole album. Sideline Story, Rise and Shine, God’s Gift and Dollar and a Dream are all HARD AS F*CK! Straight up and down

    21. Didn’t like this song. sounds too much like a drake song (defo not a good thing). Other leaks I really like though so no threat

Carter 4 > Any of your lives.

      1. its crazy you say he sounds like drake cuz i cant hea that shit as all, j. cole is better than drake and that is a fact, then again if i was 14 and had tits and a pussy id prob say drake was better,

    33. I’m glad he’s gettin more haters cause that’s gon spread the word around that he’s Great. You know how I know a lot of yall are hatin? I know yall hatin cause yall wasn’t saying bad comments about him when he didn’t have a big fan base, but now since he in the spot light yall want to say bad things and yall wish yall favorite rappers was in his position.

      1. WHAT NIGGA!\ I’ll t bag ur mom while u watching and fuck ur bitch while she sucking my mans dick. U j cole dick sucking fagget. GO KILL YOURSELF PLEASE

    35. This is your fcking title track, but you leave your A-game like “Blow Up” off the album??? Nigga, you high?!

      fail.

    36. Dear DX users,

We’re sorry for bringing you nothing but worthless music from J. Cole. But please continue to support DX by listening to your favorite artist and trying not to criticize and use vulgar language when listening to something you don’t like.

    37. Stop with the Drake comparisons. This sounds nothing like a Drake song. And why is the same person leaving the same ignorant comments…we get it you do not like J Cole. Now go listen to lil Wayne and enjoy yourself.

      1. NIGGGGGUH! Don’t make me fuck ur bitch and put it up on every major porn site. U FUCKING PEICE OF SHIT. Don’t blame us for your wack ass taste in music FAGGET. GO SUCK ELTON JOHNS DICK. YEH CUT IT OFF AND COOK THAT SHIT AND EAT IT FOR DINNER AND THEN COMMENT AND TELL US HOW U LOVE IT

      2. I cant stand people that support garbage hip pop like ur self thats why we r n drought for good music this site is not for u plz leave now!

      3. @hatershater
who gives u the right to tell people who can come to this site? Oh thats right, because your safely hiding behind a computer screen. bet you wouldnt say that in his face. anyways, its his own taste in hip hop. so what? why should it bother u that he likes something that you dont? that’s really pathetic. No one has to like the same precious “Hip Hop” that you like. Oh as far as good music goes. Theres plenty of it, you’re just too lazy I guess to even look for it. Ever heard of Kendrick Lamar? smh. I swear Hip Hop fans are the worst type of fans in music. No respect for opinions whatsoever…

    38. Wow this boy said this album is gonna be a classic he must be on that whitney like Brandys brother this cole world album makes drake first album sound like the classic like the illmatic

      1. wont be long before u get buttraped for walking in ur neighborhood while playing j cole on ur iPod bitch. They’ll take that shit and shove it up ur ass and piss on you.

    39. this isnt the best track on the album. people need to buy this album its dope. rise and shine is one of the best songs ive heard this year.

      1. no his delivery has been kinda slow and cocky, not the best lyrics arent top notch either, production ehhh, not the best.

    40. idk y you pple get so worked up bout this shit, if you like it good for u if you dont then you dont there is no need to put all this vulgar lang and emotion in a blog where no one know who the hell you are anyways

      1. Im the hatershater now i hate u now u no who i am i hate wack rappers like cole and make it worst i hate wack rappers stans like ur self

    41. This song makes me very angry this is gay music i feel like going outside and sockinfg the first gay person that play J Coles noise

      1. YOUR SO DUM!!!! you just a mad angry HATER!!!! you’re probably screaming in your room wherevere you are cause you are so mad that you are HATERRR!!!!

J cole is way betta den everybody!!!!! GO SHOVE some of that lupe fiasco or “nas” or whatever’s DICK IN YOUR ASSHOLE CAUSE EVERYBODY SUCKS EXCEPT FOR J COLE

        SO STOP HATING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    42. only good songs on cole world are ‘Nobodys perfect’, and ‘Never told’. and ‘Sideline story’
      the rest are kinda forgettable….

      1. funny you say that cause i think, gods gift, rise and shine, cole world are the only good tracks, so does that make the album good? haha, mad dissapointed in this kid, aint buying album.

      2. who dat aint even on the album dumb ass. album is a dissapointment seems like he tried to make a mainstream album an album to please the masses, to afriad to be a leader.

    43. yall bugging JCOLE is nice, he brings a different angle to the game, gives u something to think about, a breath of fresh air…not just the typical im a drug dealer wow ill shoot shoot bang bang u all the garbage…some real music that 90% of people can relate to…the album not a classic but its def solid…name ya top 3 new rappers with classic albums or better yet ya top three new rappers period COLE has to be in it…he betta than wale, meek mill, vado, jay electronic, and the list goes on

    44. Im not droping a dime on hes album lackluster ryhmes and beat i rate this album a 1 because all of this hype hes a average rapper they shouldent of gas this boy up like that its a shame hes not even gonna make the one hit wonder colume just a could of been rappeer fake drake is his new name

    45. wow so much haters just because he gets overated by some ppl. Just because hes overated doesnt make him garbage… listen to his content dont judge him just because everyone else loves him. no wonder eminem has soo much haters bunch of fake hip hop fans go listen to sweet home alabama

    46. guys the album is fucking amazing he just happens to be leaking shitty songs. I downloaded the leak and its absolutely amazing i swear

    47. this dude is swaggless no swagg at all so what he do jack drakes swagg looking all soft on that pic with a basketball with snow in the background

    48. Jay Cole, Lupe and Game KEEP making excuses for not producing great albums that match their skills. IT’S NOT THAT EASY IS IT!

    49. Let me tell you kids something, LEGENDS are legends for specific reasons. It’s NOT enough to just have a nice spit game. You have to be able to deliver it right, have a nice voice, have charisma, stage presence and something INTERESTING to say. Define yourself.

IMO the following are the TOTAL package:
      1. Jay Z – voice, subject, beat selection
      2. Snoop Dogg – voice, subject, presence
      3. Nas – voice, subject, concepts
      4. Eminem – voice, clever, subject, presence
      5. Kanye – voice, attitude, subject, production, stage presence 1000
      6. Wayne – voice, clever, style, beat selection
There are others of course but you get the idea. The only two rappers I can think of that just hit the air waves like an atomic bomb from day 1 is Snoop Dogg (Deep Cover) and Eminem (My Name is).HM: LL Cool J in Krush Groove.

      1. I agree 1000000% dude u r right on time with that list its a packege u cant forget the swagg points too COLe has 0 swagg

      2. You got to remember when reasonable doubt dropped jay-z was thought to have no swag or “presence” that’s why it didn’t sell. Spit game first you can wear versace and talk shit later.

    50. The album is good, but it’s not great. He was missing the beat selection that’s all! His flow is bananas, but he didn’t need to produce pretty much the whole album himself. Imagine Cole on a Premo beat. I’m just saying…..

    51. Watch and and see dick heads!!! When Terrence Howard come back and do his album as Deejay from Hustle and Flow its gon do more numbers than Watch the Throne… Guarantee!!!

    52. This is one of the weakest songs on his album, maybe the weakest he made. But you have to admit j.Cole is a game changer not in the sense of new but changing imainstream back to the concept hype music it was 10-15 years ago. But with a modern style his shits hype with a meaning. May not be there with the likes of fashion, kendrick, hopsin,or sha stimuli but more like t.I.

    53. haha its funny how everybody thinks he’s underground, he’s a puppet like everybody else in the mainstream.. his sound aint fresh, sounds like sum drake would do. be original at least! -__-

      1. I gotta disagree not with the underground thing but the drake comment sure coles albums concept is all mainly bout girls but his shit got meaning he don’t ramble on like drake, take lights please, dollar and a dream, daddy’s little girl,No body’s perfect just to name a few. But yea I can see the comparison to drake

      1. but lil b and will smith way better than j cole dickhead… log off and get a life faggot… I’m here living off my grandmother’s pension check, sitting on my ass doing absolutly nothing with my life like the rest of faggots that make hate comments on this site and your talkin about cole got a dope album? Log off faggot!!!

    54. I am the MOTHERFUKKIN onling E-Thug king of Earth, Mars and Pluto…. and I live in my mothers basement typing all day while you hard working motherfuckas with jobs gotta pay rent and shit… hahhaa … look at you suckas LOL..

    55. I didn’t like this track at all…The beat didn’t match the subject…The lyrics were decent…But overall 2 out of 5 just because his lyrics weren’t crappy…

      1. what? what u gonna say punk ass bitch i know you are not gonna say anything bad about j cole fuck head

go shove a lil wayne’s dick down your throat while eating out birdman’s asshole and licking drake’s FACE!!!!! hater bitch you probably obsessed with birdman and lil wayne and probably jerk off to the picture of them kissing and wish drake was with you to give you handjobs and kiss you goodnight and then have lil wayne come tuck you in and strip for you while thinking about birdman’s nuts

so don’t even let me catch you sayin that again you GAY YMCMB lover

      2. hahaha, this album is pathetic at best. His mixtapes were fire but this is weak, he claimed it was blueprint level? idiot.

    56. Top 25 of today

      1) Wayne
      2) Drake
      3) Nas
      4) Jay-Z
      5) Wiz Khalifa
      6) Nicki Minaj
      7) Eminem
      8) Lil Twist
      9) T.I.
      10) Tyga
      11) Rick Ross
      12) Mack Maine
      13) Lupe
      14) Jae Millz
      15) Gudda Gudda
      16) Cassidy
      17) Jeezy
      18) Tech N9ne
      19) Lil Chuckee
      20) AZ
      21) T-Streets
      22) Short Dawg
      23) Raekwon
      24) Jay Electronica
      25) Big Sean / Kanye / Ja Rule (3 way tie)

      1. My GOD, people talk about J. Cole stans, but Young Money d-riders are the most ridiculous thing I’ve ever seen (well read from in this case).
First off Nicki Minaj, what are you a teenage girl? (and if you are tell your parents they ain’t doing their job raising you proper)
Who the f are Lil Twist and Lil Chuckee? I mean, I do know who they are, but are you freaking kidding me? Over Raekwon? That’s blasphemy!
Gudda Gudda, honestly has he ever been on anything worth listening – and please don’t say BedRock?
Cassidy, even Jeezy, this ain’t 2006!
You put Kanye at last spot? Sharing it with Big Sean? Sharing it with JA RULE!!??
You should probably stop listening to hip hop, and if you don’t, please don’t go around telling people that you do. You’ll just embarrass yourself.

        Oh and as for Cole World: the song – not the best of them. It’s not horrible;
the album – very good. 4/5, maybe 3.5,5, I’d say. Not a classic, not yet anyway, it’s only been a day since it leaked, it’s not even out yet. Can’t go around calling anything a classic unless it’s been at least 3 years. There’s no such thing as an instant classic.

    57. go to youtube and search blacklawrebelmusic dey are pretty good leave comments support real hip hop up and coming artist.

      1. YOUR SO DUM!!!! you just a mad angry HATER!!!! you’re probably screaming in your room wherevere you are cause you are so mad that you are HATERRR!!!!

you could not have had n e higher expectations bcuz this is THE SHIT!!!!!!!!!!!!

        SO STOP HATING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    58. cmon people, thats not his most lyrical song on album, mr nice watch and cole world are one of those fun songs. just listen dollar and dream III, sideline story, gods gift, rise and shine. there is a lot of dope songs with inspiring lyrics and great concept.

    59. I listen to Pacs’s “Bomb Firts” from Makaveli track one, and still haven’t heard a rapper rhyme on that level to this day. His state of mind was just in another Zone by the time he recorded that album. Pac still is number one,…but some one will probably rise to that level in time.

    60. This and Nice watch are easily the two worst songs on the album, they still ain’t bad though, just not great. My main problem with the LP is the order of the tracks, it sounds like a mixtape or compilation, doesn’t flow at all, no way is it a classic.

    61. Every mixtape J. Cole put out himself were almost straight classic. He signs to a label and all of a sudden this. Point closed, record labels fuck up artist music. Fuck major labels!

      1. thats a terrible list. TI, wayne, drake, bob, wiz hahha get the fuck out of here. royce doesnt even deserve to be up there, i bet your 16, little nigga.

    62. see this list u fuckaaa..
      1. 2pac
      2. Jay z
      3. Biggie
      4. Eminem
      5. Rakim
      6. Redman
      7. Outkast
      8. Kanye West
      9. Jedi Mind Tricks ( Vinnie Paz)
      10.Lupe Fiasco/ Ice Cube…..

      This Is It……..

    63. the beat is ill..not dat lyrical cole but it definitely sounds perfect for the mainstream..the album is pefectly leveled! he got hits for the mainstream n he has emotional deep records. dis album is classic n if its not appreciated now..than 4 or 5 years from now. it will be praised n labled as a classic. jus like hov,em n nas’s albums

    64. Everyone trying to tell themselves that this JCOLE album is good….when really, it isnt..its average at best. Stop routing for the dude cause hes “underground”. You want to listen to a quality album, go listen to Evidence- Cats and Dogs. This Cole World album is boring and almost lame. I like Cole, but damn, its sad when people have to force themselves to like someone, and force themselves to hate someone, like Drake. Hip hop fans are idiots.

      1. The only thing wrong with this albums is that he took alot of songs off of his mixtapes. Other than that this shit is fire. No fillers, and the production is fucking awesome.

    65. To those dissin’….

One thing you need to understand…and this goes out @truth (who calls himself “truth” but should actually get a different blog name, coz your comment doesnt resonate ANY truth)…..Cole is dropping his FIRST album, he is probably signed to one of the most demanding record label coz it’s Jay Z’s, and there are alot of eyes looking at what his label puts out.

It’s unfortunate that the industry and the commercialisation of HipHop has gone a bad way, but y’all need to understand he is under alot of pressure to not only put out a GOOD album BUt to SELL.

ppl like “truth” are the problem. You guys just dont understand clearly, that he has to satisfy alot of mediums in order for the wider industry to consider him a success.

Ppl look at all these clowns nowadays and talk of success against album sales! Which as MOST real hiphop fans WILL know doesn’t mean shit in HipHop anymore. Most hiphop artist that are branded a ‘success’ aint even rap artists!

This dude brought out several mixtapes which were Hella good pieces of work. His debut album is whats gonna determine if he is gonna have a long career or not. And just so we are clear, ppl don’t like this dude coz he is “underground” like like him coz he is a breath of fresh air. U idiots don’t know wassup coz you probably hella young and aint used to hiphop not JUST being about a sick beat that can be played in a club. Nobody forcing nobody to like anyone….so put a fucking sock in it, or bring some subtance to your comments!

This track IS dope…..rather bump this shit EVERYDAY ALL DAY than listen to these fuck ass muthafuckaz whom the industry class as “rappers”

    66. 100k is the feasible goal here. Big Sean did around 200k I think. We don’t exactly have a Marvin Gaye and Chardonnay record but I think around 200k would be somewhat of a miracle. 100k has to be the standard because under that just doesn’t look good for anybody. The important thing to note here is that the content is there. Its a great debut album. When you buy it you’re not buying this album, you’re paying for the next one.

      1. lol funny how you still click on a link with this dude’s name on it just to say that. Why even waste your time? Seems like hatin’ is a full time job.

      1. what? what u gonna say punk ass bitch i know you are not gonna say anything bad about j cole fuck head

go shove a lil wayne’s dick down your throat while eating out birdman’s asshole and licking drake’s FACE!!!!! hater bitch you probably obsessed with birdman and lil wayne and probably jerk off to the picture of them kissing and wish drake was with you to give you handjobs and kiss you goodnight and then have lil wayne come tuck you in and strip for you while thinking about birdman’s nuts

so don’t even let me catch you sayin that again you GAY YMCMB lover

    67. top 10
      1.jayz

      9.jada
      10.game

big n pac aint even my generation so i cant really put them in but i love there music!

      1. Fair point….I would put Jada a little higher though, and ti down a few more spaces, I would put Nas higher as well and make Kanye drop.

    68. I’m a J. Cole fan as much as the next guy but, in all honesty…As great of an rapper Cole is he could have came a little harder on the title track for the album.#9/27

      Follow Me On Twitter: @LuhSimba

    69. Cole’s debut is DAMN GOOD. Best mainstream rap album in awhile along with My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy.

He’s getting big so a lot of people are hating for with little to back up their statements. It’s quite amusing.

Dude is only going to keep progressing now that he’s got his feet wet with one album. He’s got the hang of it now.

Also, Kendrick’s Section .80 isn’t better than Cole’s debut. Some songs on Section .80 are chores to listen to. Dude isn’t as well-rounded as Cole. What other rapper is putting out deep tracks like Lost Ones, Breakdown, Never Told…and then making catchy but still lyrical hits like Can’t Get Enough and In The Morning? Ya’ll can think he’s better because he’s not as mainstream, and it’s cool (and very easy) to hate on those who are bigger and getting more attention.

      Cole World

    70. J. COLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

      J. cole is betta then 2pac and biggie. He WAY betta den Nas, Rakim, Jay-Z, Andre 3k, tech n9ne

but he aint betta den lil wayne. but keep doing ya thing cole you will get there!!!!!!!!!!!!

      1. HAHAHA R U FUCKKKINNN STUPIDDD!!!

u can say j. cole is better than all thoses rappper BUT not better than LIL WAYNE!! “you will get there”..yo i knw cole gna murder c4 on some real shit, ima j. cole & waynne fan but WOW. & c4 was shitty not his best

      1. I’m still confused as to why you and other users are posting your top ten? What the hell does that have to do with this single? Please, take your spam else where.

On a better note, this single is hot. 9/27 will be a Cole World.

    72. I think it’s gonna be a hell of a night. this is like a perfect pre-game hype track. Cole got that complete style for a rapper.

    73. surprised to see this is a 3.92/5 it should be at least a 4.4/5 shit is hot. cole sounds hungry as ever. spittin effortlessly and going hard

    74. Picking up 2 copies after work tomorrow!!! how that feel? verrrrry happy!

Cole World! Cole Life! Cole Blooded! Peanut Butter and Jelly!!!

    75. Now the dick riding has got out of control!!!! J.cole in the top ten? Seriously stop it….His album hasn’t even debuted yet and you dudes already putting him top ten!!! So i guess people forgot about the cannibus buzz…. People said he was gonna be the best rapper ever!!! and you see where he is at….J.cole has the skills to get there but just dropping a album(His first) Isn’t gonna make him top ten…..I just had to bring you cats back to reality on this….. Yes j.cole is a dope emcee yes he is a beast…. Top ten nooooooooooooooo….Good day.4/5

      1. Top ten right now tho in 2011, i say yes. He impressed me with this album i thought he was going to sell out when i heard mr. nice watch….but it was solid as hell…4/5 at least

    76. With his verses, J.Cole is on top of his game. But all the other stuff (hooks, choruses, beats) is very hit and miss for me. His hooks seem to all be very similar, like a proverbial hook for all the mainstream heads – I mean clearly it works, since he’s “Cole World but hawt as shiiiit” but it just means there’s something missing.

    77. Why the fuck is this so boring?

Like ive heard it from every other rapper claiming to be “innovative”

Enjoy your sheep while you can. They will only spend money on your anus smelling album for as long as you’re a gimmick, gimmick.

      1. haha, but he is innovative to the mainstream new era. Your logic is fucked. He’s bringing back storytelling, lyricism to the forefront of hip hop. Who else is dropping tracks like Lost Ones, Never Told, Break Down and has a #1 debut without a hit single? Wiz? Big Sean? Krit and Kendrick don’t have the overall appeal like Cole. Drake doesn’t have the lyrical abilities Cole does. This track is obviously for fun. Beat slaps, flow is wicked. it’s meant for the clubs, fuck head.

Cole = most well rounded MC of this era. Easily. You’ll continue to eat your words as Cole’s career keeps shining and he blows every other rapper from this era outta the water.

      2. Lmfaaooo @fuckhead.

All i can do is laugh at this soft vagina men and their “story telling” rappers who are really just cry-babies who try to disguise their emo-tendencies.

This guy is ass on top of ass. Just like drake is. Hip-hop doesn’t need anymore bitch made dudes making songs for women. Leave that for RNB, please. He’s not innovative. He hasn’t said anything new or refreshing. He’s just better than someone you heard on the radio. Lmao kiddies and their limited mainstream views. 200,000+ sold? I can shit out better lyrics than this puss and my dick could produce a better beat. lmao Fucking mainstream sheep.

      3. You’re one of THOSE guys, eh? One of the know-it-all anti-mainstream rap douchers. Why are you acting like you’re so hardcore? Seriously. So, men can’t express their views about issues involving abortion, infidelity, and parental issues??? You’re a close minded fuck then. You have no logic in your statements.

You’re obviously jealous of Cole’s success and making outlandish statements. It’s best to just shut the fuck up.

No comment to the remark about you coming up with better lyrics and beats than Cole. Nice effort, dude. Keep making statements like that to make yourself look logical and important…

      4. oh and J. Cole isn’t even THAT mainstream, so again…your logic is fucked. The label made him put Work Out and In The Morning on the album to appeal to more people and guess what? it worked. they’re not chart topping singles but he obviously doesn’t need big hits to sell. Ya gotta play the game to change the game. No other relevant rapper (besides Kendrick and SOME of Kanye’s shit) out now is putting out deep, real life shit like Dollar and a Dream 3, Lights Please, Lost Ones, Never Told, Breakdown, Daddy’s Little Girl. So go and eat and dick, pal. You lost.

      5. Doesn’t want to get shitted on so repeatedly tries to end the argument with “you lost”

        lmfaaoo

None of your points are remotely valid, you’ve proven nothing besides the fact that you are a teenager who doesn’t know hip-hop and only listens to the radio. Expand, sheep. You’re honestly not even worth responding to, you have the industry shoveled garbage artists dicks so far up your ass than all you can really do is root for these sorry repetitive artists who all sound more or less the same. This guy isn’t creative. He’s a re-hash of hip-pop new age vomit that everyone is listening to.

        Try again.

Let’s also bet 1000 dollars you’re white, pushing your opinion even further out of the “matters” range into the “doesn’t count” territory.

I know about 10 artists who deserve 200,000+ albums sold, who don’t get it because they arent going to become faggot industry coons like this guy, and they don’t want to shove this horrible mainstream non-sense down their fans throats.

Realize that money is going to change this future homosexual faster than you think, and your little vagina is going to be all sore about it, like it is now

        poor kiddy :[

      6. Why are you assuming all of this stuff? Wow, you’re ignorant. Teenager? No. Only listen to mainstream? Nope. You think you’re the only person who knows hip hop? Elitist doucher, everybody!! I listen to a variety of hip hop—from Public Enemy, Rakim, Sage Francis, The Roots, Atmosphere, Del, El-P, Eminem, Nas, etc…

Too bad the 10+ artists you know don’t have the ability and appeal to gain a huge following like Cole. Cole makes music the underground/hip hop elitist fags can appreciate but can ALSO make tracks like Can’t Get Enough to appeal to the masses. You’re acting like Cole is a shitty rapper like Wiz Khalifa and Asher Roth. Get the fuck outta here, douche bag.

I appreciate and recognize when a rapper has talent. Cole IS bringing back raw, lyrical, storytelling to the forefront of hip hop. You just love hating on whatever is new and hot for the sake of being an elitist. Can’t please everyone though. You expect Cole to ONLY making deep, thought provoking songs? Gotta be well rounded to be a big time rapper and stay relevant. Most underground rappers are boxed into one category and that shit gets boring quick. Like I said, Cole can make deep tracks like Lost Ones and Never Told…and make a legit club banger like Can’t Get Enough and this track to appeal to everyone. Keep hating though. Everyone at the top gets shitted on!

Keep assuming all that shit though. None of it’s remotely true. Reeeal nice try.

      7. Also, for future reference…don’t assume a bunch of outlandish things about someone who actually knows what they’re talking about. You sound like a really
bitter underground fan. It’s not a good look, homie. You can respond with whatever you want. Assume some more of that crazy shit.

Face it, Cole is legit. He can make deep, personal, songs just like all that underground shit you like (Dollar and a Dream 3, Lights Please, Sideline Story, Lost Ones, Never Told, Break Down, Daddy’s Little Girl) . He can make hype tracks (Gods Gift, Rise and Shine) and mainstream songs that are actually lyrical and clever (Can’t Get Enough). Cole’s album is a very solid debut and he’s only getting started so you’re stuck being a bitter asshole for awhile as Cole shits all over the game. The hate you’re spewing up is pretty ridiculous and I cannot take it seriously. Take care, Mr. Bitter Underground Fan #583.

      8. Someones passionate. I didn’t bother to read half of what you said, but I can tell your vagina is all blistered and sore.

Googled some globally accepted rappers and claim you listen to them.

        Nice try, though.

It’s like trying to say you have the finest taste for modern cuisine, but we go in your refrigerator and all we see is kraft cheese and bologna.

The fact that you masturbate to J.cole nullifies everything you could possibly say, kiddo.

The best thing I can say about him is that, him standing in the midst of a giant pile of shit, really hides his actual stench.

Someone who is better than some radio rappers, hasn’t proved anything.

Get real taste in music and stop having orgasms to these gimmick kids.

      9. hahahaa, so I googled some globally accepted rappers now eh? You’re stretching, man. Reeeeeeal nice try. Seriously. Get over yourself and your “real” taste in hip hop.

It’s REALLY easy to hate on rappers that are on top. It’s REALLY pathetic and makes you look like a bum.

To name more rappers I listen to: Aesop Rock, Redman, AZ, Ice Cube, Wu-Tang, Knonam, Talib Kweli, Common, Mos Def. But I guess I just googled those rappers too???? Fucking idiot.

It’s all subjective, fuck head. But there’s a difference…your hating makes you seem like a bitter shit stain. I’m not saying Cole is the greatest thing since sliced bread, either. And the hate you’re spewing out isn’t justified at all. There’s little to no validity to back it up.

What gimmick does Cole have exactly? Whatever you think it is, it isn’t. Mainstream fag sheep isn’t a gimmick. Whatever that means anyway. He’s just getting really popular and it bugs you that a rapper with actual all around talent who’s hitting it big gets more shine than your favorite boxed in/no appeal underground rappers.

        Cole World!

      10. It’s not J.Cole I have a problem with at all. It’s always the fanbase I direct my hate toward.

It’s people like you who make rappers overrated.

People like you who will blindly go out and by an album and boost someone sales, curving the industry to try and recreate whatever is selling, despite how lackluster it really is.

Because whatever is big at the time, dictates what goes on. That’s how mainstream always has been.

It’s the fans fault, for liking things that arent up to par.

J.Cole is reaping the benefits off of pure stupidity. Not as much as Wayne is, but.

        You get the point.

In an industry where something as bad as the Carter 4 can sell almost a million copies the first week.

It’s really obvious that “fans” of mainstream music really have trash tastes.

And i’m sure a good amount of “cole world!” screamers were screaming “Young money!” Back in 2006

        Sheep will be sheep.

      11. No sheeping on my behalf. Ever. I’ve never been a fan of Young Money and Lil Wayne. I’m a fan of rappers who write their own material, have stories to tell, are very passionate about the movement of hip hop, and don’t do songs with cheesy pop beats and repetitive choruses. I don’t listen to the fucking radio for hip hop. Cole does not represent lackluster rap like most rappers of the mainstream new era.

How many times do I have to say this to get my point across? J. Cole IS bringing back RAW STORYTELLING to the forefront of HIP HOP. Him selling over 200K is a GREAT sign for the new era of hip hop. It’s proof you don’t have to make cheesy pop rap songs like Roll Up and Black and Yellow by Wiz Khalifa. You have a problem with me because I’m a fan of storytelling and raw emotion hip hop???? YOU’RE the problem.

Cole is light years ahead of Young Money and the cheesy shit Wiz Khalifa, B.O.B., Big Sean and other new rappers put out. Are those guys making great tracks like Lost Ones? Break Down? Nope. And I don’t give a fuck about the bandwagon fans. I can’t help that. Maybe they’re actually getting into REAL music. Cole is the truth and more people are realizing it. Don’t get butt hurt because he’s gaining more fans because he actually has talent.

      12. I think it’s a cool song on a quality cd. Lupe is better, he has mass appeal and underground respect Lu gave J.Cole the co-sign.

He produced everything so no one forced him, so shut that noise up. He did a great job organizeing the album.Cole world is an 7-8/10 not as good as Lupe’s debut prbably the 3rd closest though(debuts of this generation that is 01-11 Kendrick Lamar would be 2nd actually he is just as if not more diversive on his cd debut than Cole. With better lyrics.

Cole’s average rapper in general, but with the music out now he looks like a 9/10 rapper I give Cole an 8/10 his lyrics can be nice, but they are so basic I find Royce da 5’9 more appealing now(9/10),with Hell: The sequel.

        I’m done… lol

      13. honestly u should give up with this guy. its an example of someone blatantly and LEGIT hating and trying to make it look smart and valid with nothing but put downs and worthless points. I 1590000% agree with ur view man. First I was a mainstream listener in the early teens, then I stumbled on underground and became an elitist like this dude. I started loving guys like Kanye West eventually and I opened my eyes to enjoying ALL hip hop thats done right, regardless of whether or not I personally like it. A Lupe interview changed that for me. He was under attack for endorsing guys like Soulja Boy and 50 Cent, and he responded by saying that different people grow up in different experiences and that contributes to their music, whether ignorant or revolutionary. Cole is lyrical, passionate, well-rounded and smart, is aware of what he needs to do to play “the game” right (and even then tracks for the club and for the ladies are something he’s always been a part of, that doesn’t make him a sellout), and on top of all that he maintains integrity putting his love for the music before the money. THere’s proof for everything we’re saying, so this guy up there can recognize real if he is himself… or keep on being a hater/dumbass. And I never use either of those terms loosely. I’ve probably used the word “hater” 3 times to describe someone lol. I put Kendrick Lamar above J. Cole personally and I love a WIDE variety of rappers underground and (slightly)mainstream, and even Drake gets play from me. I support local acts, and far-reaching “underground” artists nobody heard of. I will even admit that J. Cole SLIGHTLY dropped lyrically since his Come Up days and the beats have changed for good and for bad at times (i.e. this song *bad*), but does that diminish the merit for his talent, skill, appeal, and drive for success? Does that take away from his ability to touch on real life content and relate to people? No. And dumb elitist bullshitter up there will never understand. I suggest rehab, its never too late.

    78. That’s all this guy is. Another cudi who’s more mainstream rap orientated. How much does it cost to have these lame ass rappers put down, times are tough i could probably get someone to do it for a few k’s.

I don’t even want to accidentally hear this faggot on the radio.

      1. If you don’t like j cole dont listen to his music, no one wants your negative opinion, so what? we dont need just one rapper in this world.. get over it

    79. STOP HATIN. if you dont like J Cole fuck you. this nigga goes hard. theres not only gunna b 1 rapper so hop off your favorites rappers dick!! you biggas act like groupies. FUCK YO pissin me off to early in the morning.

    80. an Cudi has NOTHING on J Cole??? where is cudi i dnt see no new shit from him. so FUCK you who’ever said that stupid shit

    81. HEY GUYS IM AN UPCOMING RAPPER I KNOW YALL SEE THIS SHIT ALL THE TIME AND ARE PROLLY LIKE NIGGA PLEASE BUT I WORK HARD AND WOULD APPRECIATE IF YALL CHECKED ME OUT AND I DONT MIND BAD CRITICISM YOUTUBE=lilkaz604

      1. I’m with you man…ppl today do that w/ ppl like Cole, Lupe, Electronica who @ their best can all be GOOD emcees, but not great like a ton of the obvious ones that started in the 90s (when dope underground emcees actually made it to the radio more times than not)…

Current ILL emcees that remind me of super duper dope emcees from the 90s:

Elzhi (technically started in mid to late 90s like Em, and has always been VERY GOOD, but last 5 years of so focusing on solo career he’s stepped it up even more and dude is AMAZING w/ it)

        Diabolic

        Tonedeff

        Louis Logic

        Lowkey

        Shad

        Blu

Juice (I guess he did start in mid to late 90s also, but albums are all in early 2000s…underground Chi legend)

        Apathy

        Rhyme Asylum

        Hopsin

        Brother Ali

        Jean Grae

        Sly Boogie

      2. jim, if you really feel that way it just means your getting to old. I’m sure the generation before you was saying the same thing about 90’s rapper compared to their 80’s artist.

Jake, I’m sure this time last year j cole was near the top of that list of yours. all those artist you named are probably great in your opinion, however as soon as they become commercial successes you will say the same thing about them that your are saying now about j cole.

    82. jcole is up n rising, at first i wasn’t feeling him, and i been hearin his songs lately and i gotta say his flawless, his flow is just so smooth, #coleworld

    83. aint the best or worst, BUt at least its hiphop style, at least he can say hes keepin it hiphop somewhat, better than most of the trash on this site jesus christ

    84. Hey all I can say is this if some label told you that we will give you a million dollars and you have to write a couple songs that are mainstream who would decline? I know ppl who would do anything to do rap even if they have to bite the bullet and do something they dont like. J cole is just starting and with more money the more power he has to do his own thing it takes time
