Ne-Yo has been praised by his girlfriend for owning up to past indiscretions on his forthcoming song “2 Million Secrets.”

Arielle Hill, one of Ne-Yo’s two current girlfriends, took to Instagram Stories on Monday (April 29) to share her thoughts on the anticipated track.

She wrote: “Proud of you. Accountability…Owning your shit. And not letting anyone tell you different about yourself. Everyone messes up but a lot of people will not admit it because they are too busy judging others For things they know nothing about.”

Ne-Yo shared his thoughts on the single during his NPR’s Tiny Desk performance from last week. He re-posted a clip from the performance and penned his thoughts regarding its meaning.

He wrote: “As opinions fly freely in regard to me, the only one I’m really putting any interest or energy towards is my own, how I feel about who I am. Like every other human alive, I’ve made some mistakes. And some people have decided to let those mistakes define me, chosen to judge me based off those mistakes. And that’s fine. GOD’s judgement of me however, is the only one that truly matters.

“‘2 Million Secrets’ is another opportunity for people to voice opinion and pass judgement. But it’s also an opportunity for me to own my sh*t, show remorse for my actions and the people I’ve wronged and overall forgive and better myself. For me. Not you.

“I don’t mind if you don’t like me. I’ve only ever asked you to like and respect my art, my music. So, with that being said, please enjoy my latest #2MillionSecrets…coming soon!”

The track has been co-signed by Jermaine Dupri and Bryan-Michael Cox, who shared a video to Dupri’s Instagram page.

The Atlanta mainstay wrote: “That boi @neyo got 1 !!! [prayer hands emoji]. thank you for the inspiration.”

It’s unclear if the new track is about Ne-Yo’s ex-wife, Monyetta Shaw-Carter, or his baby’s mother, Sade Bagnerise. He has had legal drama with both.

Bagnerise, who shares two children with the R&B singer, was seen filming Ne-Yo inside his home last week and accused him of “body slamming” her.

She also claimed he had drugs and prostitutes in the house while their two young sons were present.

“Tell them about the freak-off, Diddy Junior,” Sade says, taunting her ex-boyfriend as he plays a video game while their children sleep on the bed behind him.

She then says: “He’s calling the police, y’all […] You know what you did — you body slammed me on the floor,” to which Ne-Yo replies: “Is that what happened?”

Ne-Yo also had a tumultuous split from his ex-wife Monyetta Shaw-Carter, who claimed that their marriage partly failed due to his excessive desire to have threesomes.

In an interview with Haus of Aaron last year, the Real Housewives of Atlanta star said she and Ne-Yo “cheated together” throughout their relationship because they welcomed other people into their bedroom.

She explained that she initially didn’t mind — but then he started wanting them every day.

“He wasn’t ready. We cheated together if that makes sense,” she said. “And then it just wasn’t enough and I was like, ‘Well, no. I didn’t sign up to do this every day.’”
