Logic has put forth the dramatic video for “1-800-273-8255” from his 2017 album Everybody. In this musical short film, Hotel Rwanda actor Don Cheadle stars as the father of a young man who struggles with acceptance for his sexuality. The video also features Boogie Nights‘ Luis Guzmán as the track coach. Extra vocals for the song come from Alessia Cara and Khalid.
When the song first dropped, online awareness for the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline spiked.
“We received over 4,573 calls that day, an increase of 27% when compared to the average volume on the same day of the week for the past 3 weeks,” a statement from the organization said.
