HipHopDX Premiere: After dropping his highly personal magnum opus — The Beautiful — in March, Alfred Banks has returned with a lyric video for the project, “Uptown” featuring CZA. The New Orleans-based MC weaves in and out of various lyrical schemes that are easily deciphered thanks to the vibrant lyrics shooting across the screen. Heavy on the bass and light on the bullshit, Banks delivers Hip Hop in its purest form.
The visual serves as the follow-up to the intimate “The Funeral of Orlandas Banks,” which tackled his older brother’s suicide.
