HipHopDX Premiere: Boston producer, rapper and singer Caye has dropped a new music video for his feel-good summer jam “LA Life.” With its smooth and rich acoustics, Caye lays down refreshingly energetic verses and bursting melodies as he celebrates his arrival in the City of Angels. With direction by Luke Allwein, the visual transports the young wide-eyed Boston musician to the land of dreams, where he hits Melrose, Venice Beach, and Downtown L.A.

“‘LA Life’ was inspired by the reality of living in the Promised Land,” Caye tells HipHopDX. “Living my entire life in Boston, I never realized how big the music industry was in L.A. In Boston, you don’t get to see that golden opportunity, so you don’t see its full potential. The goal for me and many Boston musicians was always to reach this Promised Land that everyone was talking about. I never understood the gravity of that until I finally spent a year out in L.A. at USC.”

Currently a college student at the USC’s coveted Thornton School of Music, Caye has already built up a college fan base that helped catapult his 2016 breakthrough single “Coma” to over four million streams.
