HipHopDX Premiere: The worlds of art and music collide in DJ Popaganda’s new video for “POPaganda,” which finds the creations of subversive pop artist Ron English coming to life. “DJ Popaganda is the official master of ceremonies of the Popaganda experience,” English tells HipHopDX. “DJ Popaganda provides the musical heartbeat and visual stimulation to popaganda events.”

According to his bio, English is one of the most prolific and recognizable artists alive today. He has littered the global landscape with captivating images on the street, and in museums, movies, books, and television. He created the term “POPaganda” to describe his signature mash-up of high and low cultural touchstones. From superhero mythology to totems of art history, his original characters include MC Supersized, the obese fast-food mascot featured in the Morgan Spurlock film Supersize Me, and Abraham Obama, which is a fusion of Abraham Lincoln and and Barack Obama.
