HipHopDX Premiere: United Arab Emirates Hip Hop collective The Recipe has cooked up its latest video for “Bandana,” a song that represents the idea of how people, including political figures like Trump, wear a mask to portray a role and essentially behave like puppets.

“‘Bandana’ is a video that began as a concept a long time ago,” the group tells DX. “We knew the visuals had to be on point with the concept of the song so we decided to show two worlds where slowly over time, one world starts seeping into the other. The video itself was a long and fun day of shooting. The dancers, graffiti artist and crew were really cool, and near the end of the day, when we thought everyone was tired, the three of us sat on top of the car kind of stunned as we watched everyone else going all out dancing to the song.”

Consisting of three MCs, the group strives to push the boundaries of regional Hip Hop achievements. This year, they teamed up with Talib Kweli for “Place To Rest,” and have shared the stage with Snoop Dogg, Fat Boy Slim, Akon, Fat Joe, 50 Cent, Lloyd Banks, De La Soul, Marcus Houston, Omarion, Lloyd, Prime Cuts, Foreign Beggars, Pendulum, Karl Wolf, and Mobb Deep.
